Despite having one of the largest navies, India avoids launching a sea-based attack on Pakistan mainly because of the high cost. A single Pakistani JF-17 fighter jet costs around 25 million dollars, while India’s aircraft carrier INS Vikrant is worth approximately 3.1 billion dollars. This means that for the price of just one aircraft carrier, Pakistan could acquire more than 120 fighter jets. Any damage to such a carrier would not only be a military setback for India but also a severe blow to its economy.
