They should make smaller ones for disposing of pedos.

This could be repurposed to help treat pedophiles and communists.

OMG, it only took a few seconds to cut this tree. How many years did it take to grow this tree?🌳🌲

It looks and acts like one of those ugly insect looking things in the Matrix movie. Does the tree know it’s about to be skinned alive by a monster? Do plants have feelings too?

Those machines have put thousands of sawyers out of a job - yes impressive and very productive, but check into the cost of them , along with maintaining them, and the payments don’t go away in the winter when you can’t work , or haul the logs to the mill .

A machine that destroys a tree that has grown for years in other words, an enemy.

What chance does nature stand agains this kind of machine, that can cut down a tree in seconds, cut off all the branches, produce logs, often wood burned for energy, not to make furniture or homes, wood fuel, wood pellets, wood sawdust toxic to human health, exposure evidence

Ah yes, because nothing says 'progress' like turning a century old tree into toothpicks before your coffee gets cold. Mother Nature's just thrilled.

The concept was originally from Finland. In 1973 David Cochrane of waratah engineering in Tokoroa, New Zealand pioneered the first practical heavy duty head for processing trees. Waratah was a contemporary pioneer alongside the finish engineers. I remember it well because my parents and myself lived immediately opposite David Cochrane in tokoroa, New Zealand.

Lumber is a CROP!! Just because it isn't harvested yearly, doesn't make it any different than soy or corn. The trees are planted, managed, and harvest when they are "ripe". All the people that think this tree is an "old growth", get out of the city once in a while.

Nature: takes 50 years to grow a beautiful tree. This machine: Hold my hydraulic fluid, I need 5 seconds.

Very efficient, but what about the birds and squirrels living in the tree that get crushed?

What's also insane is that machine is $350,000 and Joe Logger gets a lone from a bank with a highschool education. He works his butt off and pays it off in 3yrs.

There are 3 Trillion trees on earth. Mankind cuts down 15 billion per year. It would take 200 years to cut them all down and that is with not a single tree being planted or growing during that 200 years. We are NEVER going to run out of trees.

How the hell did that tree harvester do that cutting, I won't be surprised if robots take over the world soon

What an awful, yet perfect display of the destructive power of mankind. This should go the way of purse-seine net fishing. Not that they've cut back on that enough, either. This seems inhumane on an intuitive level.
