This area like all areas around DC are an artificial economy. A significant number of wealthy people either work for the government, a subcontractor for the government, an NGO for the government or are employed through grants loans and NGO money. It's not likely that the government will ever cut back to any significant level, but if it did neighborhoods all around, there would suddenly become much more affordable because the Spigot of government feeds the whole city, a city that produces very little other than government.

All of you talking about the high crime rate in PG , is slightly correct, unfortunately it’s the part of PG that’s within 10 miles of DC , ( capital heights , district heights , suitland, riverdale , oxon hill..) where the majority of the crime occurs, not blaming DC …ijs

Blacks in govt and being allowed to participate and compete for govt contracts starting in the 80s is a big part of the prosperity that made its way to the county. It’s the main reason this admin cut fed jobs - to end so called DEI (ie, black prosperity). What a damn shame
