6’4 D2 Sophomore Aidan McDowell has been one of the most impressive players in D2 this season. Through his first 10 games McDowell is averaging 29/5/2 on 51/42/94 splits and is leading D2 in total scoring as just a sophomore. McDowell is one of the most efficient scorers in all of D2 with his ability to finish at the rim at a high level and shoot from three at a high level. McDowell is an elite shooter who’s shooting 42% on 9 attempts a game and he’s doing that either off the dribble, from a movement three or off the catch. He’s also a skilled driver and a cutter at the rim and has one of the highest rim pressure rates, while also drawing free throws at an elite level. There’s not many players McDowell’s age and height who have had the impact he’s had and he’s been one of the most underrated players in all of college basketball.

The IRGC is massive, with over 100,000+ personnel and control over missiles, drones, and proxy forces across the region. But most of that power is conventional or indirect; militias, influence, and asymmetric warfare. The IRGC does have special operations elements, but nothing comparable to Delta's Tier 1 operators. Delta? Small, hyper-trained teams designed for hostage rescue, high-value targets, and surgical strikes at the highest level of warfare. If it’s a battlefield, the IRGC has numbers and reach. If it’s a precision mission in the shadows… it’s not even a fair comparison.

Most people think the best athletes are exceptionally good at controlling their emotions under pressure. And there's something to that, but "control" turns out to be the wrong word, and the difference isn't just semantic. Emotional control and emotional regulation aren't the same thing. Control implies suppression: push the feeling down, stay locked in. Regulation is something more precise: knowing what the emotion is doing, where it's pointing, and whether to move with it or redirect it. One of those is trainable. The other mostly just creates a pressure cooker. Think about what Joe Montana actually did in that huddle before the 92-yard drive. He didn't tell his linemen to calm down or focus up. He pointed to the stands and said, "Hey, there's John Candy." That's not emotional suppression, that's redirection executed at a level most coaches never even think to teach. And the reason it worked is because Montana was regulated enough to read the room, then do something completely unexpected with it. Composure isn't the absence of pressure. It's knowing which direction to move it.
