I've installed countless miles of chain link fence. Stretching is mandatory!

For firmness. I agree

I’m not an expert, but I think it does need to be stretched so it look nice and snug

we stretched the fences we put up with our heaviest guy. he would grab ahold of the fence and put his weight into it then we would put the pole wires on holding it in place. worked every time. and this was what our guy looked like..

What for, dosent provide privacy, dosent keep cats and dogs from escaping. Provides no resistance from intruders. Is there any benefit to Southside hoodlum fences

For demarcation?

Sure, go ahead and put stakes and string up! This fence does nothing for anyone

My old dog pulled the bottom of a chain link fence apart. He literally pulled it hard enough to untie it. He also ate through the walls of 3 different houses and tunneled under an electric fence. I loved that dog. RIP: Miles

Yes it do especially if you have dogs. They’ll push straight through a lose fence

Yes, it does need to be stretched or else it will be flat and loose like it's laying on the ground.

Stronger if it’s stretched

Anyone who's ever climbed over a chain-link fence can tell if it's loose or tight. Real good stuff here. Deep post concrete is required or it bends over time.

Yes, stretch it. A floppy chain-link fence has big “budget dog escape room” energy 😭
