Instant reaction to Two Hands starring Heath Ledger.

If you’re watching some of our darker films amongst the comedies this has a baby Russell Crowe and is an Australian classic.

Aussie with handlebar moustache. Please see Chopper. Uncle chop chop is the best. Young Eric Bana.

Great film. Another decent one is Animal Kingdom, just in case no one has mentioned it already. Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton, Guy Pearce and Jackie Weaver. Enjoy! 🇦🇺 🇺🇸

Oh shit! Man is going full citizenship. Death in Brunswick. You need it

Probably even harder to get over there than The Castle but I highly recommend this.

Two Hands features one of our most underrated legends - the great Bryan Brown. He starred with Tom Cruise in Cocktail which you should be able to get easily in the US. Bryan has probably the best accent of any Aussie ever just quietly...

You hated 10 Things I Hate About You???? What is wrong with you???

If you want a non traditional horror movie that will scare the crap out of you because it’s real - it happened and it happens. Try Wolf Creek. John Jarrat isolated himself completely during the filming in the craziest method acting flex of all time. Enjoy! 😉

Guy who played Pando was Tom Cruise’s mentor in the movie Cocktail. Coghlan’s Law….

WHEN THE GUY TRIPS DURING THE BANK ROBBERY??😭😭😭 oh nooo

Watch a tv show called “Mr Inbetween.” Probably the best show to ever come out of Aus. Only short episodes and only 3 Seasons.

@kazza264 97% Rotten Tomatoes

You need to watch Cosi! It has an amazing line up of Australian actors - including Rachel Griffiths, Toni Colette, Ben Mendehlson, Barry Otto, David Wenham. So good.

leaving the 10k to go maybe see Rose swimming (wasn’t even her) was insane!! wait on the beach for her to get out!?!??

Chopper Looking For Alibrandi Wolf Creek Somersault The Dish Bad Boy Bubby Underbelly series Hounds Of Love Priscilla, Queen of the Desert Gallipoli Muriel’s Wedding The Stranger

I think the best thing ever done in this country is mr inbetween. Should be easy for u to get too (either fx or Hulu I think) and definitely the castle, but has to be the original, not the one made for the US…

we gotta go to Sydney

I knew Heath when he was starting out, you described him very well - a genuinely great young man who had an enigma - he even took my little sister on set & got her in as an extra, glad to see him being remembered

The Dish is brilliant. Same production team as The Castle but for a broader audience. Sam Neill’s understated performance is divine.

YOU DIDNT LIKE TEN THING I HATE ABOUT YOU!?????? WHAT!?!?!

I told ya not to play with that! Dad’s got a splitting headache!

The Dish (made by the same people that made The Castle) has more of an American connection and I’m certain you’ll enjoy that more

Pando is played by Byron Brown. He had a few US films in the 80s such as Cocktail with Tom Cruise, Gorillas in the Mist with Sigourney Weaver and the F/X series.

@grantcohn Outside of commercial movies this is the list of movies for you to chug through 1. The Castle 2. Gallipoli 3. Wolf Creek 4. Storm Boy 5. Rabbit proof fence 6. Romper stomper Enjoy....

@ashaireonna @grantcohn if you want to see one of the best Australian comedy heist movies you need to see ‘Gettin’ Square’ starring @WenhamDavid & Timothy Spall, set on the Gold Coast. It is HILARIOUS. The mullet in that movie is too good to be true. Vale Heath Ledger 🙏🏼❤️

i said that about him and the joker !!!

It’s been years since I watched Two Hands. It had a strong impact on me. Very good movie. Another classic is Wake in Fright (1971)

Watch Malcolm, its a film about Melbourne and its trams. And armed robbery. Classic.

Getting Square is another great gangster Aussie movie

Heath & Rose Byrne were both only 18 years old when Two Hands was filmed … remarkable young performers.

Shotties are good mate.

Heath definitely went too soon... Now you need to watch Animal Kingdom, Wolf Creek... The Dish for something light-hearted. The Dressmaker with your female friends..along with Muriel's Wedding.

I worked in an office in Melbourne, after about 5 years I saw The Castle it was then I realised that all the jokes in the office came from The Castle.

Watch Romper Stomper with Russell Crowe, confronting but Sharon Stine saw it and got Russell on a movie and his Hollywood career took off

Another great Heath Ledger film is Candy, stellar Aussie cast. It’s a very raw movie. He plays the role of a heroin addict.
