Instead of scientists in white coats, it is robots that move between the benches in a University of Liverpool chemistry laboratory. They are part of a project developing systems to handle much of the practical work in chemistry, under the direction of human researchers.

They need to be part of that conversation. Are the Israelis willing to accept that? If that were the case, that would be, I think, a move in the right direction.

The world’s first fully robotized medical laboratory has opened in Tokyo A lab where all procedures are performed by robots has begun operating in Japan’s capital. There are currently about ten of them, with the main “employee” being the android Maholo LabDroid. The robot can carry out delicate manipulations with samples, operate laboratory equipment, and perform precise medical procedures that previously required human involvement. The goal of the project is to fully automate scientific research — from generating hypotheses to verifying results. By 2040, the number of robots in the center is planned to increase to around 2,000.

How much longer will New York City exist? NASA Scientists now say that parts of New York City are sinking! Serious! Sinking! After the past few days of severe flooding in NYC, this is beginning to worry a lot of concerned citizens. According to researchers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, between the years 2016 and 2023, parts of the city have sunk approximately 0.06 inches per year. Part of the reason why some of the city is sinking is because it was built on landfills. The other reasons are natural ones. 10s of thousands of years ago a giant ice sheet was located on top of New England, which pushed the land down, but it also forced land around the ice to move up. Now that the ice sheet is gone, New England is slowly moving upward, while parts of NYC is moving back down. Does this mean that flooding will continue to get worse in parts NYC? Likely so.
