In 1978, Richard Bellman published Artificial Intelligence: Can Computers Think? He predicted that humanity may never have the technology to create Jian Yang's "Not Hotdog" app. (Believe it or not, it wasn't possible to build Not Hotdog and have it work reliably until about 2012.) What Bellman got right was the creation of the Bellman Equation in the 1950s, which enabled all reinforcement learning and ultimately led to the development of modern LLM abilities. In this video, I give a 6-minute introduction to Q-Learning, the Hello World of reinforcement learning.
