This passage takes the sailors through the Drake Passage, a treacherous waterway known for its extreme winds, towering waves, & unpredictable weather. The conditions in this region test even the most experienced mariners, making their successful passage a significant achievement (Drake Passage is named after the English explorer Sir Francis Drake who confirmed the existence of an open sea route south of South America). Having braved these formidable waters, the officers have now earned themselves the esteemed title of being the “Cape Horners", a designation traditionally given to the elite group of seafarers who have successfully navigated Cape Horn under sail. Cape Horn is situated just over 800 kilometers (432 nautical miles) from Antarctica, making it one of the closest land points to the icy continent. The Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 Flag has landed back in the United Kingdom by jet pack. 🚀 In one of the most remarkable moments of the Full Circle Expedition, the #IG27 Flag was flown from ship to shore by Gravity Industries as two tall ships carrying wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans completed their 2,000 nautical mile journey around the United Kingdom. After 12 weeks at sea and visits to 22 ports, it was a fitting finale to an extraordinary expedition and a reminder of the power of the Invictus Spirit to inspire and bring communities together.

The Peace Explorer In 2013, Anatoly Kazakevich founded the Baikal-Alaska project ( in the Siberian city of Irkutsk, Russia. The project is dedicated to the study and development of historical ties between Siberia and Alaska. In 2017-2019, Anatoly headed up an expedition to sail a catamaran from Lake Baikal to Alaska. Anatoly sailed across Baikal lake, the Lena River, the Okhotsk and Bering Seas to Alaska, eventually reaching his final destination in the city of Sitka, Alaska. In total Anatoly and his team traveled some 15,400 kilometers, a journey dedicated to bringing Americans and Russians closer together. Anatoly made a documentary movie, and published a book which tells the story of the remarkable expedition. He and his team have built a themed Baikal-Alaska hotel ( in Irtkusk where visitors can live in rooms inspired by the expedition and the history and geography of Siberia and Alaska. Next year, this intrepid explorer for peace will be heading up a new expedition designed to bring the Russian and American people closer together. In July 2026, Anatoly’s Baikal-Alaska will undertake a new expedition which will transverse key stops along the route used in the Second World War. To date, the response has been overwhelming: over 100 participants, including pilots, owners of sea plane, bloggers, and filmmakers—have joined the mission—a mission of peace. Indian Army Humanitarian Assistance: Ladakh On 04 Sep 2025, during a mountaineering expedition, two South Korean nationals fell critically ill near Kongmarula, an isolated peak of Ladakh. Indian Army Humanitarian Assistance: Ladakh On 04 Sep 2025, during a mountaineering expedition, two South Korean nationals fell critically ill near Kongmarula, an isolated peak of Ladakh. Army Aviation helicopters of Fire & Fury Corps executed a night Casualty Evacuation from an unprepared site at an altitude of 17000 feet, to ensure timely evacuation of the mountaineers to SNM Hospital, Leh for further treatment.
