Queen Victoria's Saloon - Railway carriage, London & North Western Railway, Queen Victoria's Saloon, built Wolverton Works, 1869... Queen Victoria was the first British monarch to travel by train when she travelled on a Great Western Railway train from Slough to Paddington. After the journey, the Queen indicated that she had enjoyed the new experience. In 1869, Queen Victoria commissioned two railway coaches, which were built at Wolverton Works by the London & North Western Railway and designed by Richard Bore. This elaborate saloon was reputedly Queen Victoria’s favourite railway vehicle, having been built jointly at her and the LNWR’s expense, and was not replaced until after her death. Most of her long-distance journeys were over the London & North Western and Caledonian Railways, and the West Coast Route consequently developed an interest in the operation of the Royal Train. This vehicle started life as two separate six-wheel vehicles connected by a flexible gangway, the first to be fitted to coaches in this country. Eventually the two bodies were remounted on a new, twelve-wheel bogie underframe, which gave better riding and overcame the Queen’s dislike of having to pass from one vehicle to the other while it was in motion. On the lower exterior panels are painted the Royal Arms, and the badges of the Orders of the Bath, the Thistle, the Garter, and St Patrick. The interior is lavishly furnished with material all chosen by the Queen herself. The vehicle contains the Queen’s day and night compartments, toilet facilities and accommodation for her ladies-in-waiting and personal servant. The second bed in the Queen’s sleeping apartment was usually occupied by one of the royal princesses, it being regarded as a considerably privilege to travel with Her Majesty. The Vespasianus Titus Tunnel is a 2,000-year-old engineering marvel – a massive tunnel dug through a mountain that was built to divert floodwaters threatening the harbor near the ancient city of Seleuceia Pieria in what is now Türkiye. According to UNESCO; it is one of the most magnificent remains of the Roman period because of its size, well-preserved authenticity, and architectural and engineering features. Titus Tunnel was neither built, nor completed by the Emperor Titus. The construction of this tunnel, began during reign of Vespasianus, the father of Titus, during second half of 1st Century AD. Although work continued during the reign of Titus (79-81 AD), it was only completed during the reign of Antonius Pius in the 2nd Century AD. These dates are known due to several rock-carved inscriptions found in the tunnel. At first tunnel section, the names Vespasianus and Titus can be found. This inscription reads ‘Divus Vespasianus et Divus Titus F.C.’ (‘Divine Vespasianus and Divine Titus caused it to be made’). Thus, it may be possible that the tunnel was jointly built by the two emperors. Another inscription in the downstream channel bears the name Antoninus Pius, indicating that construction was completed during the reign of this emperor. Titus Tunnel is located in modern day Samandag-Cevlik, Turkey. During Roman era, Samandag-Cevlik was known as Seleucia Pieria (Seleucia by the Sea). This ancient city was one of the four cities in the Syrian tetrapolis, the other three being Antioch by the Orontes, Apamea and Laodicea in Syria. Seleucia Pieria was once an important Roman port city, in which exotic goods from the East were exported to Rome. Perhaps the port’s most well-known ‘exports’ were St. Paul and St. Barnabas, as they were recorded to have sailed from this port on their first missionary journeys. This city, however, had a major problem, as it was constantly threatened by floodwater that came from the nearby mountains. As these waters from mountains carried silt and mud as they descended, harbor was inevitably silted up and became inoperative. Although canals were ordered to be built by previous emperors, they were to no avail, as the floods continued. In order to solve this problem once and for all, Vespasian decided to build a tunnel by digging through the mountain to divert the floodwaters. This diversion system was built on the principle of closing the front of the stream bed with a deflection cover and transferring the waters through an artificial canal and tunnel. Titus Tunnel was designed by engineers of Tenth legion Fratensis and built by Roman legionaries, sailors, and prisoners. Flavius Josephus, a Jewish historian, wrote that one of the canals in the region was built by Jewish slaves captured during the Jewish War (66-73 AD). Unsurprisingly, some have identified that canal with the Titus Tunnel. When completed, the Titus Tunnel spanned a distance of 1.4 km (0.86 mi). As the whole tunnel was carved through solid rock, this was a remarkable feat of Roman engineering, especially when one considers the relatively short amount of time required for its completion. Furthermore, this man-made marvel has survived until today without much damage. Moreover, Titus Tunnel is a testimony to Roman ingenuity in solving the challenges faced by its cities and is among the great constructions of the Roman world. In 2014, the Titus Tunnel was submitted to UNESCO, for the Tentative List of its World Heritage Sites. One of the many positive effects of this achievement is that people would be aware that the architectural achievements of ancient Rome are not limited to grand, imposing monuments, such as Colosseum and the triumphal arches of various emperors. This elegant piece of American automotive history is a 1930 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Sedan - The most luxurious car in the world... This Duesenberg Powered by a 420cid Straight-Eight producing 265hp, the Model J delivered strong performance for its time despite it weighing more than 5,500lbs. The Convertible Sedan body was built by Walter M. Murphy Company to sit atop Duesenberg J chassis and it became one of the most popular coachbuilt designs for the model. The beautiful body matched with its unique, two-tone turquoise color makes it stand out amongst even most distinguished of automobiles. The Duesenberg was one of the most popular luxury cars as well as a status symbol in the United States and Europe, and was driven by the nobility, the rich and the famous, including Al Capone, Greta Garbo, Howard Hughes, Mae West, Clark Gable, Bill "Bojangles'' Robinson, William Randolph Hearst and the Duke of Windsor. Throughout the golden age, classic cars were seen as a luxury item that only the most rich and famous could afford. A huge part of living a successful life was driving something that looks the part, so alongside Hollywood stars came their cars. Few coachbuilders on Duesenberg Model J are more highly regarded than LeBaron, and fewer still were capable of such an astonishing breadth of work. LeBaron produced everything from famed “sweep panel” and “barrelside” phaetons, to the occasional limousine with their own special tailored style. Among their most successful works on the Model J was the Convertible Berline, as catalogued by Duesenberg and featured in the company’s catalogue. Six examples of LeBaron Convertible Berline were eventually built. Of those, body number LB 4100, mated to engine J-362 and chassis 2380, was the first of four to this design, outfitted for occasional formal use with folding jump seats and a division window. Three remain extant as part of long-term private collections. In 1874, Chicago merchant Ernst J. Lehmann established a new business, The Fair Store, named for both its attitude towards customers and its carnival-like atmosphere, created by selling virtually every imaginable item at discount prices. Predating modern big-box retailers’ stock-high-and-sell-low practices by over a century, “The Fair” was known for dealing vast quantities of merchandise on a cash-only basis, for unusual prices that almost never ended in a 0 or 5—emphasizing that buyers were saving then-valuable pennies because the merchant was not rounding up his numbers. Such was the success of Chicago’s first department store that it eventually occupied a 12-story building on the corner of State and Adams Streets, built in 1897 at a cost of $3 million and advertised as being twice the size of the Bon Marché in Paris. By 1910 it offered nearly 800,000 square feet of retail space and, with 5,500 workers, qualified as one of Chicago’s largest employers! The family firm was finally sold by its founder’s heirs in 1925 to a group headed by dime store tycoon S.S. Kresge. Those same heirs lived quite well thereafter, largely in palatial estates in the suburban community of Lake Villa, which Ernst Lehmann had played a major role in developing. To further enunciate our plans for the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMI) in Lagos, let me further clarify the approval we secured from the Federal Executive Council Meeting last week. 1. There are two international terminals in Lagos. Terminal One is that old building directly facing the long stretch of road leading to the airport built & commissioned in 1979 by the Obasanjo-led Military regime. It has two wings known as WING D and WING E. Terminal Two is the new building on the right-hand side as you drive into the airport, started by President Jonathan’s govt. with a Chinese loan, completed during President Buhari’s govt (with the loan) & made operational during President Tinubu’s first one month in office. 2. Due to years of neglect & because the traffic over time quadrupled beyond its capacity, the building & facilities at Terminal One became totally decrepit. We have been engaged in some patch jobs over the years just to make it a bit presentable. Now, shorn of all the rhetoric, what we simply want to do is to totally strip down that building, including the entire roof (leaving only the carcass), then re-design/reconfigure it & build a brand-new airport for the nation to meet modern, international standards that can also cater for the increased traffic. Both wings D and E would be affected. 3. As for the new Terminal (Two), we got approval to expand the building and the Apron (where aircraft park for boarding and disembarkation) in order to accommodate more aircraft, including wide-body aircraft. That is not all; we are constructing two new independent ring roads in and out of the airport (one for departure and one for arrival) and a bridge that will take travellers directly to the upper floor of Terminal Two Departure lounge, instead of lifting our luggage up the escalators when we are departing. It is a design error we intend to correct. 4. We have also introduced smart solutions to the new designs in order to deliver a smart airport to Nigerians that can compete with any airport in the world. 5. In all, Nigerians will be proud of what we are going to deliver. And take note, this will not be done by a loan from anywhere, but by the Renewed Hope infrastructure Development Fund, which is one of the gains made from the removal of subsidies. 6. As the work progresses, we will be inviting the Press, Civil Society groups, members of the National Assembly and interested Nigerians on regular tours of the facility to monitor the extent and quality of work. It is part of our national heritage and we should all rightly be interested in the final outcome. 7. I will also encourage our compatriots to simply google the cost of most modern airports built around the world in the last few years (including those in Africa like Angola, etc) and you will agree with me that the Bureau for Public Procurement that scrutinised and fixed the final cost of this project did a fantastic job for the nation. 7. And as a final word, it is important to tell Nigerians that we also have brand new Terminals in Kano, Abuja & Port-Harcourt. However, presently, they are all underutilised due to the traffic that is less than thirty percent of their capacities. 8. This solo developer just built software that rewrites its own code. No team. No funding. No corporate backing. Just one guy, a stack of terminals, and an AI agent that decided to evolve itself. His name is Peter Steinberger. He built OpenClaw. The fastest-growing GitHub repo in HISTORY. And in a 3 hour Lex Fridman interview, he dropped details and predictions that should terrify the entire tech industry... Peter built a personal AI agent that lives on your computer. Talks to you through WhatsApp. Has access to your files, calendar, everything. Cool but not groundbreaking... Yet. Then one day he sent it a voice message. Problem: he never built voice support. No instructions. No code for audio. Nothing. The agent checked the file header, identified the format, converted it with ffmpeg, realized Whisper wasn't installed, found an OpenAI API key on the system, used Curl to send the file for transcription, and replied with the answer. Nobody taught it any of that. ZERO instructions. It just figured it out. But that's not even the scary part. The agent literally modifies its OWN source code. When something doesn't work, it rewrites itself. When Peter debugs, he doesn't read code. He asks the agent to read its OWN source code, find the bug, and fix itself. Self-modifying software. Built by accident. Running in production. Used by hundreds of thousands of people. And BOTH Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman are personally trying to recruit him. Not through HR or recruiters. Zuckerberg spent a WEEK playing with OpenClaw. Sending Peter direct messages. "This is great." "This is shit." "Fix this." When they first connected Peter asked to hop on a call and Mark said "Give me 10 minutes, I need to finish coding." But Sam Altman's playing a different game. There's an NDA involved but Peter hinted the Cerebras deal translates into speeds that feel like "being handed Thor's hammer." His exact words: "I've been lured with tokens." Two of the most powerful people in tech fighting over one open-source developer who built everything from his apartment. Peter's response to both: "I don't do this for the money. I don't give a fuck." But the real reason this matters isn't Peter's career. It's what this means for every app on your phone. Peter's prediction: 80% of apps are about to die. Why do you need MyFitnessPal when your agent knows where you are, what you ate, how you slept, and adjusts your workout based on your stress levels? Why do you need a calendar app when you tell your agent "remind me about dinner tomorrow and invite my friends" and it handles the entry, the WhatsApp messages, and the reservation in one shot? Why do you need Uber Eats when your agent opens a browser, places the order, and tracks delivery without you touching a screen? Every app becomes a slow API whether the company likes it or not. Companies like Cloudflare are trying to block agent access. But all they're doing is making things slower. Not impossible. Peter said it perfectly: "You're not taking a feature away. You're just making it take longer." The app economy is on borrowed time. Not because the apps are bad... Because one personal agent that knows you and can interact with any service makes most of them pointless. In the future, we'll have one agent that handles everything. Software that rewrites itself. Agents that learn without instructions. Two CEOs fighting over a solo dev. And an app economy about to get wrecked. This isn't coming in 5 years. It's literally already here. Most people just haven't installed it yet.

The graphic also highlights a new housing development at Fosterstown Place in Swords where Ryanair purchased 25 out of 28 homes. Ireland's housing system is dysfunctional and not fit for purpose as it fails to deter vulture funds from bulk buying properties that could be homes for individual buyers. On May 20, 2021, the Irish Government introduced a 10% stamp duty on bulk purchases of residential houses. This measure aimed to discourage large-scale acquisitions by investors and vulture funds. This is one of the reasons why the housing system is broken in Ireland. Ryanair cabin crew salaries in Ireland are notably lower than those of their counterparts at other airlines. Their pay ranges from €17,000 to €29,000, depending on flight hours and additional bonuses. The average salary for cabin crew across Ireland is approximately €2,120 per month or €25,400 annually, indicating that Ryanair's pay is about 15% lower than the national average for flight attendants. O'Leary's net worth, primarily derived from his shareholding in Ryanair, is estimated at around €700 million. It's no wonder Ryanair staff struggle to afford average rent in Dublin. Last January, the airline purchased 25 out of 28 homes in a new housing development at Fosterstown Place in Swords. Ryanair stated that these properties were acquired to accommodate staff who work at Dublin Airport. However, to make matters worse, 18 of these homes are sitting empty—six months after the developer completed them. Homelessness in Ireland has reached another new record high, with 14,760 people homeless and relying on emergency accommodation, including 4,561 children from 2,133 families, according to the latest figures released by the Department of Housing. The Government failed to meet its social and affordable housing targets by 2,680 homes last year and significantly underestimated the number of houses needed to be built annually by 17,000. It's widely accepted that Ireland requires up to 50,000 additional houses each year; however, the government's "Housing for All" plan only aims to build an average of 33,000. The Housing for All plan, launched by the Irish government in September 2021, is their housing strategy aimed at addressing the country's housing crisis. However, since its implementation, statistics have revealed alarming trends: • Total homelessness increased by 74%, from 8,475 to 14,760. • Homeless adults increased by 66%, from 6,131 to 10,199 . • Homeless children increased by 95%, from 2,344 to 4,561. The 2022 Census shows that the country has 166,752 vacant homes and 66,135 empty holiday homes. Notably, nearly a third of these vacant homes (48,387) have been unoccupied since 2016. Predictably, rent has doubled over the past 13 years and house prices have surged by 55%, marking the fastest growth in any major EU economy. Average rents have soared by 43% compared to pre-Covid levels, with Dublin rents now averaging €2,476. In the capital, a typical three-bed semi-detached home costs €517,333. The average house price in Dublin is rising by €469 per week. To purchase a new home in Dublin priced around €395,000, a first-time buyer typically needs an annual income of at least €77,142 and must also have a minimum deposit of 10%, amounting to around €39,500. This financial barrier helps explain why an estimated 10,600 people left Ireland to live in Australia last year, up from 4,700 the previous year—a staggering 126% increase. This marks the highest level of emigration to Australia since 2013. Currently, vulture funds own 1 in 6 mortgages in the Irish housing market, while cuckoo funds and the State purchase 42% of new homes. This situation has led to a record number of first-time buyers competing for the smallest supply of housing stock in over a decade. Nationally, just over 11,000 homes are available for purchase, a stark contrast to 2012 when 60,000 homes were on the market. A garda and a nurse with a combined salary of €89,000 cannot afford a three-bedroom semi-detached house in greater Dublin. To add to the crisis, the income needed to buy a new home in Dublin is €127,000, which surpasses even a TD's basic salary of €108,987. Dear ICP community, the Internet Computer has now been running strong for 5 years 👏👏👏 Here is a celebratory preview of ICP "cloud engines," the sovereign frontier cloud technology the network shall soon provide from Main points: — Cloud engines enable anyone to spin up their own sovereign frontier cloud. The technology involves an extraordinary inventive step, in which cloud is created from a mathematically secure network of nodes. The nodes run as part of the Internet Computer network ( but are selected and configured by the cloud engine's owner. — The frontier cloud provided by engines is strongly focused on enabling AI agents to build and update online applications and services for us. The world is changing fast, and nearly all new online apps and services are already being built with the help of AI, and thus cloud engines target the future of cloud. — Software hosted on cloud engines is tamperproof, which means that it is immune to infrastructure hacks, because it runs inside a mathematically secure network protocol, rather than on computers directly. This means that AI agents, and those building with them, don't need to have a security team in the loop, or to trust someone else's security team. This is crucial, because in the future, non technical people will demand the freedom to build with full automation — where they just need to issue instructions to AI about what to build, and don't need to worry about anything or anyone else. Of course, apps and services running on engines are also vastly safer from the new breed of hacker being enabled by frontier AI. (The cloud engines themselves are also "tamperproof." Even if a hacker gains physical access to some portion of a cloud engine's nodes, and can make arbitrary changes, the computations and data of the hosted apps and services cannot be corrupted or interrupted so long as the network's fault bounds aren't exceeded. The recent hack of Vercel, a major cloud platform, which gave hackers access to the apps it hosted, provides additional perspective on the importance of this advantage.) — Software hosted on cloud engines is guaranteed to run, so long as a sufficient number of the engine's nodes are running. This means that AI can build applications and services without the need to have a human systems admin team constantly tinkering with the underlying platform to keep it running, which is again crucial, because in the future, non technical people will expect the freedom to use AI to build without the support of others. — New frontier programming language technology, in the form of the Motoko language developed by Caffeine Labs, leverages seminal "orthogonal persistence" technology that unifies program logic and data to deliver further unlocks for AI (Motoko is the first computer language being developed that targets agents that are writing software rather than humans engineers per se). Nowadays, AI can build and update production apps at a prodigious rate, even at the speed of conversation. But it can also make mistakes, and there's a risk that an update it creates might be "lossy" in the sense it causes some transformed data to be lost. Again, in this new world, it's both undesirable and impractical for everyone to have to have a systems admin team on-hand to detect lossy updates and roll them back, but Motoko provides a solution: it can detect new software updates are lossy before they are applied, reducing potentially catastrophic errors by AI to harmless coding retries. — Software hosted on cloud engines is "serverless" but unlike traditional serverless software, directly it directly incorporates data through "orthogonal persistence." Another key purpose is simplify backend software logic and fuel the modeling power of AI by increasing abstraction (sorry for the technical language!!!). Put simply, this enables AI to produce more sophisticated backends, faster, and at dramatically lower costs, as measured by the number AI API tokens consumed during coding. (Tip for the technical: orthogonal persistence is a new paradigm where "the program is the database," and data lives inside program variables, which is possible because it's as if hosted software runs forever in persistent memory). — An expanding database of skills at shall make it possible to develop and directly deploy apps and services to your cloud engines directly from Claude Code, Perplexity, Codex and other AI platforms. Further, your account on can be connected, so that new apps and updates created through conversation automatically appear hosted from your cloud engine. In the future, R&D is going to be very seamless. You converse with AI, and your secure and unstoppable apps or services are created or updated. Cloud engines are designed to directly support this "self-writing cloud" future where we can work hands-free. — Tech sovereignty is becoming a huge issue worldwide, with governments and corporations seeking to create sovereign tech stacks owing to geopolitical tensions. Increasingly, people are realizing that tech provided by foreign nations can come with hidden backdoors and kills switches, from the base platform, right up through hosted apps and services. ICP technology is open source, and those building on ICP using AI own their own source code. When you have the source code, you can verify that there are no backdoors, and when you own the source code thanks to AI, you can update it at will, freeing you from vendor lock-in. But cloud engines take sovereignty much further... — You create a cloud engine by selecting the nodes that will be combined. You can choose the class of nodes used, and their number, but more importantly, you can choose who operates the nodes, and where they are located. Almost any configuration is possible, because the Internet Computer scales the security privileges afforded to hosted software within the network according to configuration (software hosted on cloud engines can directly interoperate with software on other engines and traditional subnets, but base restrictions are applied according to security rules). A cloud engine can be created within a region such as Europe, to comply with regs such as GDPR, or completely within a sovereign state like Switzerland or Pakistan. But cloud engines go further still... — Sovereignty is also about freedom from vendor lock-in. Cloud engines are essentially ICP (Internet Computer Protocol) network configurations, and this means the underlying compute nodes they combine can be swapped out without interrupting their hosted apps and services. This is a big deal. In addition, cloud engines now support nodes that are instances running on Big Tech's clouds, in addition to nodes that are dedicated specialized hardware, as per the Gen I and Gen II nodes that dominate the Internet Computer today. For example, it is possible to have an engine running across different AWS data centers, say, and then reconfigure the engine to run across a mixture of AWS, Google, Azure and Hetzner for even more resilience, without the users of hosted apps and services noticing a thing. That's true freedom. — Sovereign AI is becoming increasingly important too, and cloud engines allow special "AI nodes" to be added to them, so that hosted software can perform inference on hardware provisioned by the owner from a location the owner has selected. Even though the AI nodes are only accessible within the cloud engine, they can still benefit from the forthcoming Internet Intelligence Gateway (IG), which will make it possible to validate inference performed on key frontier open weights LLMs, even when the inference is performed on completely independent AI clouds. When the results of inference are received, this technology can verify that neither the prompt+context (input) nor the inference result (output) have been modified, and that the results were produced by the precise LLM expected. This ensures that AI clouds don't cheat by running inference on cheaper models than are being paid for, and bad actors aren't modifying the inputs or outputs to surreptitiously insert advertising into results, say, or change facts, or insert malware when code is being generated. What's super cool about this technology is the cost of the verification is scalable. A very valuable additional security can be achieved with only 1-2% of extra cost. — Scaling apps and services when they hit capacity limits is another thorny problem that cloud engines help the world address. Engines make scaling possible without rewriting or reconfiguring software. The query workload capacity of hosted software can be horizontally scaled simply by adding new nodes to an engine, and nodes can also be added in geographical proximity to demand. Meanwhile, update workload capacity can first be scaled-up by swapping an engine's nodes out for the next class up, and then when no larger class of node is available, horizontally scaled-out by "splitting" the engine into two, which doubles available capacity. (Technical tip: horizontally scaling update capacity by splitting engines requires multi-canister architectures). — For those who have been following how Caffeine builds apps that can efficiently store large numbers of files, I should mention that apps built on cloud engines will also support the new ICP Blob Storage cloud network (since cloud engines currently have up to about 3 TB of memory, which apps storing large amounts of files can easily exceed). We are also working on allowing blob storage nodes to be added to cloud engines, to enable sovereign mass blob storage within an engine, similarly to how AI nodes can be added currently. — Lastly, but certainly not least, I should mention that cloud engines are multi-blockchain capable, and ready for digital assets, thanks to the clever math at their core. For example, an e-commerce service built on a cloud engine can securely accept and custody stablecoin payments, or a multi-chain DEX could be hosted. Further, engines can support software autonomy (software orchestrated and controlled by other autonomous software, in a decentralized way) and can themselves be orchestrated by SNS technology, and thus run autonomously too. Today, though, the focus is on *mainstream* cloud. This year, the cloud industry will generate approximately one trillion dollars in revenue. That number is already huge, but is expected to grow to two trillion dollars by 2030. After years of continuous development, which have seen more than $500m spent on R&D, the Internet Computer network is now tacking directly toward this mainstream cloud market with cloud engine technology. In their first version, cloud engines are not meant to be a cloud panacea. For example, currently they are not ideal for working with big data. You should use something like DataBricks for that. Cloud engines are carefully targeted at enabling AI to produce traditional online applications and services, including SaaS, in a safer and more productive way, which represents a new market segment with tremendous potential. Of course, DFINITY will continue to work relentlessly to push forward ICP's capabilities, so expect further developments. It's worth mentioning that this cloud segment isn't just about creating new apps and services using AI, it's also about replacing legacy systems and apps built on super expensive SaaS services. Caffeine Labs is working to produce technology (Caffeine Snorkel) that can study an enterprise's legacy systems and app built on SaaS, create replacement systems and apps, and migrate the data, while supporting key stakeholders through the process over email and chat, with full automation. Thus the legacy systems and SaaS markets shall also be addressed by cloud engines. Zooming out, and reasoning in a more metaphysical way, we believe, as we always have, that there is room for a new kind of cloud created by mathematical networks, that provides seminal advances in the fields of security and resilience, as well as true sovereignty and freedom from lock-in. That this same technology, with the help of additional technologies like orthogonal persistence and Motoko, enables AI to build for us without the need for so much oversight, and to create more backend sophistication while consuming fewer AI API tokens, enables ICP to bring game-changing advances to the world. Cloud engines will work synergistically with the Intelligence Gateway, which will enable apps and services running on engines to seamlessly leverage AI, wherever that AI is running, while providing verifiability at extremely low cost for open weights frontier models. “Ryuichi Sakamoto & Tin Drum | KAGAMI+” Makes Its Japan Premiere KAGAMI+, a work that captures Ryuichi Sakamoto’s piano performance in three dimensions and reconstructs it in a mixed reality (MR) space, arrives in Japan for the first time. The exhibition runs from June 27 to October 12, 2026, at VS., a cultural a cultural apparatus in Umekita, Osaka. Tickets are now on sale, and the full programme for the long-awaited Japan premiere has been announced. KAGAMI was conceived and developed over the final four years of Sakamoto’s life in collaboration with Todd Eckert and the creative studio Tin Drum. Since its world premiere at The Shed in 2023, the work has been presented internationally in cities including London, Manchester, Taipei, Singapore, Melbourne, Pesaro, and Hong Kong, receiving wide acclaim. Wearing optically transparent headsets, audiences encounter an authentic representation of Sakamoto at the grand piano, realized through a unique form of dimensional photographic capture. His performance at the grand piano emerges within the space alongside ethereal visuals that respond to the music, allowing audiences to experience the performance at a proximity not possible in a conventional concert setting. The experience extends beyond sound and image. Video, photography, and text are integrated throughout the space, alongside a natural scent personally blended by Sakamoto, creating a multilayered sensory environment. The work has been described by The Guardian as “a magical experience.” For its Japan presentation, an expanded version of the work, KAGAMI+, created specifically for this exhibition, will be unveiled.
