Every year, on the first Sunday of August, we congratulate our warriors of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their professional holiday and thank them for their protection. We thank our pilots, air defense personnel, mobile fire groups, anti-aircraft gunners, radio engineering units, engineers, and everyone who does their part to make Ukraine stronger. Thousands of combat sorties, thousands of targets intercepted, and thanks to that, thousands of lives protected. Over the years of the war, our Air Force has grown significantly stronger. We have received modern combat aircraft and effective air defense systems. There are still not enough of these systems to protect our entire sky from Russian missiles, but today Ukraine's air shield is already one of the strongest in Europe. And that is thanks to the professionalism and experience of our warriors, who have proven it time and again by intercepting even the most challenging targets despite shortages of one type of equipment or another. I thank every man and woman who defends our skies and does everything every day to keep Ukrainians safe. And we will always honor the memory of all those who gave their lives defending Ukraine. Saving Lives Is Their Everyday Work July 27 marks Medical Workers’ Day in Ukraine — the professional holiday of the military medics of First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine, the men and women ready every day to risk their own lives to save others. During evacuation, at stabilization points, in hospitals, during rehabilitation, and throughout the Basic Combat Training Course and training sessions, medics stand by our fighters, offer support, and pass on their experience. Today marks 32 years of the SSU’s Center of Special Operations “Alpha,” and I am grateful to you for strengthening the Center, the Security Service of Ukraine, and our entire state every year. I presented state awards to the warriors of the SSU’s Center of Special Operations “Alpha” and handed over an award to the family of a fallen Hero who was honored with this title posthumously. Over the years of our full-scale defense, the Security Service of Ukraine has become one of the world’s strongest security services: a truly combat-capable service. And a major part of this achievement is the result of Alpha’s work. I thank every Alpha warrior for your service! I thank everyone who supports you and helps you.
