@newsbusters Lawyers are not above the law. Being a lawyer while committing a crime is no protection from prosecution. Journalists are not above the law. Being a journalist (who participated in an illegal protest inside a church) while committing a crime is no protection from prosecution.

This is akin to hanging out with the robbers beforehand, discussing plans, and going into the house when they do to film how scared the homeowners are. Not protected activity. We were there chronicling protests. Once the protest started in the church, we did an act of journalism." Unfortunately for Don, this revisionist version of events doesn’t hold up. In the short clip at right, you can see that Don documented the entire final planning of the operation in a parking lot with the group. He arrived at the parking lot location to meet the group clearly with the purpose of filming the entire operation. He is careful to turn his camera away so as not to disclose critical details that were being discussed right in front of him. Niko Medved on the fans: I just refuse, and I have since I got here, I refuse to say that we can’t build this thing back. College basketball matters in the Twin Cities, it really does, it’s our job to make it matter. It’s games like this that start to get that going again. I love having the students rush the court, it’s supposed to be fun. You want them to come to the game and enjoy being there, rush the court, see us win. They go home and they had a blast, well you know what, they’re probably going to show up Friday too…and they’re probably going to bring their friends, I hope they do. I really appreciated the crowd so much. #Gophers
