The criminal, identified as Jefferson Eberto González, was shot and fell in the middle of vehicular traffic, while witnesses, from their cars, simply avoided the body and continued on their way. In the images, the assailant is seen approaching an olive green truck with tinted windows. He first tries to board the passenger side, but being ignored, he moves to the driver's side while pulling out a firearm. When he arrives in front of the window, the driver shoots three times through the glass. At that moment, the alleged assailant runs away and, a few meters away, falls lifeless face down in the middle of the road. According to the Municipal Fire Department of Guatemala City, the thief was approximately between 25 and 30 years old and was holding a firearm in his right hand at the time of being shot by the people traveling in the vehicle. However, it was later clarified that Jefferson Eberto was carrying a toy gun and that the individual also had another identity, as he was known as Edwin Alberto López.
