Interesting article today in a Russian newspaper. A former Indian Foreign Secretary warns Moscow that a nuclear first strike would be “unacceptable” & that “it would be wrong to believe Russia won’t lose the support of the Global South if it uses nuclear weapons.” #ReadingRussia

What about a country that invades its neighbours unprovoked, that's acceptable for the Global South ??

@ChrisO_wiki The fact that Russia has support to lose amongst the “Global South” shows everything that’s wrong with the “Global South” these days.

Bruhaha

It is always good when Putin gets common sense warnings. And hopefully he will listen and understand the consequences if he acts like a madman.

This is propaganda 🛑 You are laundering propaganda. Russia does not have the support of ‘the global south’. And continually talking up their nonsense about nuclear first strikes is just spreading fear mongering to quell western support for 🇺🇦 attacking Russian military in 🇷🇺

🧐 ~Always good to hear @BBCSteveR 's voice, as he translates bits from 🇷🇺 newspapers, & here it's comforting to know that they're printing this: that 🇮🇳 & 🇨🇳 hv given🇷🇺some persuasive reasons not to use nukes against 🇺🇦.

Frankly that's ridiculous. An RF first strike would be the end of RF. Wouldn't matter what support it had or didn't have. As soon as there is a strike the retaliation would be instant.

India has said this since invasion began

Quite unusual for India to be so openly forthright
