Interesting idea from Arthur Hayes on how to think about selling bitcoin. Don't look at BTC in fiat terms. Look at BTC's price in energy terms. Today 1 BTC is worth ~500 barrels of oil. If 1 BTC = 10k barrels of oil, maybe sell BTC to buy energy... show more

@CryptoHayes And assets that yield primary production. Acquiring agri land with organic soil, good access to water, and / or regenerative land practices, is as good, if not better than energy.

@CryptoHayes Dude look like he goin through it

We’ve needed a unit of account that is based in energy. The equivalent of the precision to the atomic clock. Proof of work is that directional step. So long as the information system cannot be parasitized for its connection as a measure of a energy units, it can facilitate global commerce with more nuance and precision than fiat. However, I expect we’ll see how the store of value proof of work layer can be parasitized, but might take 50-100 years to transition to the next version.

@CryptoHayes Have fun transferring 10,000 barrels of oil to pay for a house

@CryptoHayes This is spot on. Value of any currency should be related to a measure of energy in the form of fuel or labor. Doesn't help much to be a billionaire in a shit currency where avg. house price is equal to 30-50 years of average work salary.

@CryptoHayes Looks like he sold his home too. Who is this replicant?

@CryptoHayes And how would he know how much 10k barrels of oil is worth in btc? Probably an underlying price assessment of btc/usd and usd/barrel lol

@CryptoHayes @fortytooo was right

could be a good idea they are definitely ahead of others when it comes to being proactive Just the other day noticed the company has put up a bunch of Ev Charging stations throughout developing cities in USA showing they out bid $Blnk $Plug etc and are effectively hedging also while being over sold
