If he's worried about not getting re-elected, here's what he needs to do. 1. Sign the peace deal to stop his people from being slaughtered in the war. 2. Reinstate religious freedom. 3. Reinstate freedom of the press. Then, he can run for election on those things and have a chance of winning. Not saying he'd win...but at least he'd have something to take to his people and say, "Look! I've just done these good things for you!"
