It’s false. Holocaust survivors can get reparations from Germany. The reparations, which are nowhere near enough to live on, are exempt from federal taxes. Holocaust survivors’ income, assets, etc. are not tax exempt.

You are starting with a false premise. Holocaust victims were not exempt from federal taxes. Even if they had been, only the victims themselves would have qualified, not their offspring.

The point isn’t to pit groups against each other—it’s about consistency. The U.S. has acknowledged harm and compensated other groups, even when the injustice didn’t happen on U.S. soil. Meanwhile, Black Americans were enslaved HERE and then systematically denied wealth through policies like redlining and segregation—and we’re still dealing with that impact today. So yeah, people are gonna question why that harm still hasn’t been addressed in the same way.
