Interesting set-up for Florida Friday into the weekend as an upper level low comes in from the Atlantic. This low will help to usher in temperatures aloft roughly 8 - 10 degrees colder than normal. As a result, it creates greater instability and lower freezing levels...leading to more hail...

Hi Matt. Currently the track is tricky. American model goes more west with it into the Gulf, European Model stops it at Florida and then picks it up back northeast. We'll see how things go.

Next low system on Friday bringing strong winds and spells of heavy showers. The worst of the low system will be out in the Atlantic but the weakened low then looks likely to swing back over Ireland for Saturday with risk of some hail and thunderstorms in strong winds.

LIVE RADAR: Tracking strong to severe storms sweeping across southern Florida this afternoon as of 3 PM. Gusty wind, hail and frequent lightning all possible. In fact, over 1,000+ strikes with these storms the past 15 minutes. You'll also notice the low in the Gulf near the end of the video, which now has a 20% chance of development from the NHC.
