Christianity is a religion until you encounter Jesus, you’ll find the true essence then you find life itself. I was of this mindset until I met Him and realized I cannot do life without Him.

I wandered away from Christianity for a while, tried other forms of religion including African traditional religion but returned because despite the imperfections and some questionable things some do in the Body of Christ, the Body is Perfect and Jesus is truly the ONLY way.

My early Bible studies as a Catholic, the priest said “if you are a “Christian” because you were born into a Christian home, then you are not a Christian” Christianity should be about personal encounter with Christ, and there are many ways to encounter Him.

I did some research on reasons why children of Christians backslide, and the number one reason I found was Christian parents who were saints in Church but very unchristlike at home tend to raise kids who turn away from Christianity. Ask Danny or Ezra about their parents.

Personally, I don't see anything interesting here because I think we all go through such a phase after we mature and can form independent opinions different from what we grew up with.

One proof of a sound mind is curiosity that motivates the individual to question things. But questioning a belief is just the first part. That curious mind should propel you to research the belief and go as far as you can with the sole Idea of arriving at the truth. But these ones, they question then abandon and pick up other beliefs without questioning them.

What of the ones that were born into Muslim homes or were devout Muslim but encounter Christ along the way. Unlike Islam, being born into a Christian home does not make you a Christian. A Christian is an one that has intentionally confessed Jesus as Lord and personal saviour.

He's totally right here- this is why I always tell people that respect others with their religion and don't force anyone into your beliefs. How you were born and raised has a huge role in shaping your thoughts and beliefs about religion.

His father was a bad example and suddenly he judged the whole religion based on that. He didn't look past his father and look at Jesus and what he taught. Cos Jesus answered this part when he said "Love your neighbour as you love yourself"
