Instant remaster! This is actually a very interesting approach. As opposed to completely generated games where you can't really constrain and debug the game mechanics, this could actually work! You develop the game mechanics and output a simple rendering and put everything (maybe sans UI) through a diffusion process! As long as the latency is minimal, this could open up many cool use cases!

I would imagine that you could also use it to create new synthetic data. It's unlikely that there are clips of Fortnite made from wool on the internet, but you can create all kinds of clips with it and since they're based on real footage, they're coherent enough

So cool! AI + game dev is going to explode. Can you imagine playing some old PS2 game and choosing "photorealistic" as style??
