Interestingly enough, growing up, I wasn’t allowed to associate with plastic lining keepers

There's the third type who first licks the lining clean, and only then discards it, the idealist realist type.

I'll be keeping the liner. I just don't like dip on the lid.

I was highly confused the first time I met someone who kept the plastic lining.

Can we also kindly remove “raw dogging” from the lexicon?

@realAaronHermes This is a really stupid idea because the food that is sitting on the half plastic is sitting out and getting exposed to both temperature and air, then you’re going to take that germy gunk on the plastic and put it on top of the food you’re gonna eat again later! 🤦🏻‍♀️

It bothers me so much when someone leaves the plastic on halfway. If it’s open, it’s open people. It’s not fully usable if you can only halfway get in there and that plastic flap just smears everything around. So gross.

I’m the third person who stabs it with a knife to make a hole because they can’t get the fucking liner off

Nonsense. You leave the plastic attached so you don’t have a random sauce covered strip of plastic to keep track of. Peel it back half way. Dip yo shit. Throw it away. Easy peasy and clean. Or you could get all weird and psychological about some dip.

The freaking plastic liner crumbles up and falls into the dip. If I saw this guy at a party, I would 100% double dip in front of him.

I keep the liner (not for wet items). I can never remember if I opened it or if it came already messed with! But I tear a certain way so I remember my work 😂 for wet items I initial the bottle w date

Nah, we keep the plastic because 1. It keeps food from spattering onto the lid directly, and 2. Actually helps keep the lid seal tight.

Don’t tell me how to live my life. Plastic lining for life.

Can we talk about Trader Joe’s? @TraderJoesRants Buffalo Chicken Dip is great. But that thin cellophane film melted to the lid IS A NIGHTMARE to remove. It never comes off in once piece! It always leaves little spots along the edges, large enough to catch dip but not to pull off!

I gotta get the ENTIRE lining off. Highly annoyed when it doesn't come off in one piece. But I'll pick the lining off the rim tiny piece by tiny piece

You forgot the step after ripping it off where we lick it clean.

Ewww, yes, always toss the entire liner. It can trap moisture and tiny food particles, creating a spot where bacteria or mold can grow — especially with moist or perishable products (like yogurt, dips, sauces). Restaurants' health rating can be dinged for this.

But they don’t let us have the plastic lid anymore, just the lining….

But what if you cut the plastic liner in half, leaving the other half still attached and unpeeled on the container?

I just want to keep the lid clean so I don't have to wash it when I recycle.
