I’m gonna say this definitely wasn’t a surgery and this “intern” was more likely just a military member with medical training.

Sharp instruments like scalpels, large liquids like IV saline, advanced tools like hemostats, and controlled meds like lidocaine are prohibited in carry-ons....so what surgery was done?

Surgery? Maybe everything important was left outta the clip but this sure looks like the surgeries performed on ambulances daily across America. Which is to say, ahem, not surgery.

To put that in perspective, the only thing anyone has ever asked me to do was to help move their couch.

A surgery huh? In unclean conditions? Looks like it was likely just an IV.

If this is accurate, looks like possibly a “Doc Bag” was used on flight. It’s an advanced First Aid Kit so to speak that airlines have available for those of us in the medical profession. This looks more like stabilization than surgery. Interns are not allowed to perform surgeries however if I’m on a flight and need medical assistance (beyond my own training) and an intern is what you’ve got…….
