China took center stage at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025, which concluded on September 1 in China’s northern port city of Tianjin, unveiling its Global Governance Initiative aimed at promoting a more just and equitable international order. This is China’s fourth major global initiative, following the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative.
