Interpol Obstacle 1 Turn On the Bright Lights (2002)

This and the Strokes debut came out within 6 months of each other and NYC was a pretty dark place around then right after 9/11. Both albums were played in every bar in the lower east side around that time and are definitely emblematic of that era.

Song and album goated.

Their best song in my opinion.
