Before beginning his homily during the Mass to inaugurate the General Chapter of the Augustinians, Pope Leo offered a few words of reflection and invitation in English, jokingly encouraging anyone who doesn't speak Italian to "ask for a gift of the Holy Spirit." While the gift might not be that of speaking in tongues, the Pope said, people might receive the gift of listening, humility, and unity.
