May Allah accept his martyrdom. ☑️ I want to get started by thanking the Turkish Communications Directorate who brought us together to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Turkish-Somali relations. ☑️ We may be celebrating the 60th year of our modern diplomatic relations, but as we all very well know, Turkish-Somali relations are based on a much more deep rooted history than that. ☑️ Our association isn't based on just 60 years, but anchored in 600 years of brotherly jurisprudence. ☑️ Throughout history, we Somalis viewed the Turks as our real friends who stood by us and gave a helping hand during our hardest times. ☑️ After a long and arduous journey, when we declared our independence on 1 July 1960, our Turkish friends were also beside us among the first nations to recognize Somalia. ☑️ During the years of the Cold War, our diplomatic relations continued but stayed in formal frameworks and couldn't reach their full potential. ☑️ Global circumstances were narrow, distances were long, capabilities were limited, but the historical ties between us were never weakened.

Michael Baumgartener, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House this afternoon. 🇰🇷🇮🇷| Prisoner Transfer Agreement: Behind South Korea’s "Humanitarian" Facade Lie a $7 Billion Debt and a 26-Day Oil Lifeline Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi and South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on prisoner transfers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. While official statements hailed this as "progress in bilateral relations," the real progress lies not in prisons, but in bank accounts. 💰 First, South Korea has owed this debt for seven years. In 2018, the US withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal and reimposed sanctions on Iran. South Korea immediately froze $7 billion in oil payments owed to Iran; funds intended for Iranian crude oil purchases that were held in won-denominated accounts under the name of the Central Bank of Iran. The freeze lasted for years, spanning the global pandemic; during this time, South Korean banks even refused Iran’s requests to use the funds to purchase vaccines. The funds were later transferred to accounts in Qatar but remained frozen. Iran was further infuriated to discover that, due to the significant depreciation of the South Korean won during the freeze, the value of the funds had shrunk by nearly $1 billion by the time they were finally "unfrozen." Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Bagheri made the position clear to his South Korean counterpart in Vienna: "Regardless of the negotiation outcomes, the South Korean government is obligated to release the frozen Iranian funds. Unilateral US sanctions cannot justify a failure to repay debts owed to Iran." He further warned that South Korea's "illegal and unreasonable refusal" would become a "stain" on the history of relations between the two nations. ⚓ Second, South Korea crossed a red line by considering troop deployments to the Strait of Hormuz. In early September 2026, Washington pressured South Korea to "contribute to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz." South Korean media reported that Seoul was inclined to deploy troops and was finalizing details in preparation for seeking parliamentary approval. Iran’s response was direct.and written in Korean. On September 7, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei posted a message in Korean on social media: "Any country deploying troops to the Persian Gulf or the Strait of Hormuz will be viewed as directly supporting the 'crimes of aggression' committed by the US military. If South Korea yields to US intimidation and pressure, it will face 'extremely serious consequences'." South Korea’s stance did a complete 180-degree turn that same day. The South Korean Foreign Ministry shifted its tone, stating it was "in close communication with relevant countries," while a senior official from the presidential office indicated that "no final decision has been made yet." Even if support were provided, it would likely be limited to "non-combat and search-and-rescue forces." The prevailing sentiment was: "As long as we don't directly participate in US combat operations or directly antagonize Iran, we should be fine." 🛢️ Third, South Korea’s Achilles' heel: 26 days of oil reserves Why did South Korea back down so quickly? Detailed calculations by think tanks like CSIS reveal that South Korea relies on the Strait of Hormuz for 70% of its crude oil imports. Currently, 26 South Korean oil tankers remain trapped in the Persian Gulf, unable to exit. The South Korean government's strategic oil reserves are likely sufficient to cover only 26 days of actual consumption. A CSIS report noted: "No non-combatant nation would be hit harder than South Korea." Iran’s ambassador to South Korea had previously stated: "South Korea is not an enemy of Iran, but the South Korean side must consult with the Iranian government and military in advance for South Korean vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz." Translation: I decide whether your ships can pass. 🔗 Fourth, the true meaning of the prisoner transfer agreement: Just the tip of the iceberg When looking at the prisoner transfer agreement, don't focus on what is written; focus on what is *not* written. What is missing: ◾When the $7 billion in frozen assets will be released. ◾When South Korean oil tankers can leave the Persian Gulf. ◾Whether South Korea has pledged not to deploy troops to the Strait of Hormuz. ◾ Whether South Korea will resume importing Iranian crude oil. What *is* written: The two countries may transfer their respective citizens who have been convicted of crimes. It is a technical, low-sensitivity "humanitarian" agreement that could be signed publicly. This was a way for Iran to offer South Korea a face-saving exit. After all, didn't you want to "improve relations" with us? First, a largely symbolic agreement is signed to save face for both sides. INDONESIAN MILITARY RECOVERS REMAINS OF AMERICAN PILOT KILLED IN AMBUSH OVER THE WEEKEND.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Far East: Multiple missile tests were reported over the weekend, with both North Korea and China conducting tests of long-range munitions. North Korea tested a total of 12x cruise missiles from the KANG KON, the Choe Hyon-class Destroyer which is the newest addition to the Korean People's Navy. In China, a submarine-launched ballistic missile test was carried out at an undisclosed location in the Pacific, marking the first test of a SLBM by China in several years. Europe: The war in Ukraine escalated over the weekend as Russia renewed strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure. On Saturday, Ukrainian forces conducted more long-range drone attacks on Russian oil depots, most notably the Ust-Luga oil terminal in St. Petersburg. Separately, a different series of drone attacks struck various refineries in the Omsk region, deep within Russia. In response, Russia has conducted several strikes throughout Kiev, including the Vishnyovoye fuel depot on the southwestern outskirts of Kiev, which resulted in an extremely large fire. NASA's space-based fire detection sensors noted one very large fire at this fuel depot, along with a few smaller fires throughout the city that are anomalies from normal heat signatures in the region. Analyst Comment: Depleted uranium tank rounds are about 40% less radioactive than raw uranium that is mined out of the ground, so the radiological nature of this ammunition is not normally a concern. However, this risk changes substantially if it's on fire as the smoke produced by burning uranium does indeed present a radiological hazard, thus the evacuations. This ammunition storage area was located in a densely populated residential area, with the resulting fires prompting the evacuation of roughly 600x residents. Indonesia: Over the weekend, Indonesian troops conducted an operation to recover the remains of an American civilian pilot who was killed by armed rebels in a remote town high in the mountains southeast of Wamena on the island of West Papua. Nicholas F. Goselin was a bush pilot flying supplies and materiel into Balinggama Airstrip when he was ambushed last Thursday. The attack was carried out by the West Papua Liberation Army (TPNPB), a separatist movement that has been seeking independence from Indonesia for a few decades. The rebels allowed Goselin to land, before murdering him on the airstrip and burning his aircraft. At the time of the ambush, a total of 7x passengers (local Indonesian villagers) were allegedly onboard the aircraft and their status is unknown. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: According to the armed rebels in Indonesia, the reason for the murder is due to Goselin allegedly shuttling Indonesian special forces into the region to fight the rebels. An American bush pilot landing at sketchy airstrips, alone, in the middle of a war-torn region high in the mountains is not a particularly safe career choice, and it's not clear as to what prompted the rebels to conduct this attack. The rebel group has claimed that they warned the aircraft not to land, but the airline that Goselin was flying for (PT AMA) made no mention of acknowledging any no-fly zones declared by armed groups. In any case, due to the death of an American, the Indonesian military is likely to crack down hard on this region over the next few weeks, in order to prevent rebel groups from capitalizing on their power-projection operations. Back in April, the United States signed a non-binding "defensive cooperation partnership" with Indonesia as Washington sought to increase relations by way of undermining Chinese expansion in the region. On April 13th of this year, one day before the defense pact was signed, Indonesian media reported that their nation was discussing (or had already agreed to) allowing American military access to their airspace. However, this risk changes substantially if it's on fire as the smoke produced by burning uranium does indeed present a radiological hazard, thus the evacuations. This ammunition storage area was located in a densely populated residential area, with the resulting fires prompting the evacuation of roughly 600x residents. Indonesia: Over the weekend, Indonesian troops conducted an operation to recover the remains of an American civilian pilot who was killed by armed rebels in a remote town high in the mountains southeast of Wamena on the island of West Papua. Nicholas F. Goselin was a bush pilot flying supplies and materiel into Balinggama Airstrip when he was ambushed last Thursday. The attack was carried out by the West Papua Liberation Army (TPNPB), a separatist movement that has been seeking independence from Indonesia for a few decades. The rebels allowed Goselin to land, before murdering him on the airstrip and burning his aircraft. The rebel group has claimed that they warned the aircraft not to land, but the airline that Goselin was flying for (PT AMA) made no mention of acknowledging any no-fly zones declared by armed groups. In any case, due to the death of an American, the Indonesian military is likely to crack down hard on this region over the next few weeks, in order to prevent rebel groups from capitalizing on their power-projection operations. Back in April, the United States signed a non-binding "defensive cooperation partnership" with Indonesia as Washington sought to increase relations by way of undermining Chinese expansion in the region. On April 13th of this year, one day before the defense pact was signed, Indonesian media reported that their nation was discussing (or had already agreed to) allowing American military access to their airspace. After months of collective research and surveys, Chinese pioneers established the foundational consensus value: $314,159. In May 2022, Mr. Bao Rong Zhang and I, together with Nigerian pioneer Mr. Woody, launched three international Twitter Space conferences. Mr. Woody's influence helped introduce GCV to tens of thousands of pioneers worldwide, marking the true beginning of GCV's international journey. I would like to acknowledge Mr. Rong Zhang Bao, former community leader in China, as the founder of GCV, Mr. Woody Lightyear, former community leader in Nigeria, as a key supporter of GCV at early stage Their contributions during the early stages of GCV in 2022 were essential. The early path, however, was not easy. GCV faced misunderstandings, attacks, misinformation, and division. My speeches were removed from groups. Leaders became confused or misled. Some pioneers, lacking education, turned toward black markets. At that point, I made a deliberate decision: I stepped back from global expansion and devoted one full year exclusively to the China community. During that year, Chinese merchants contributed nearly USD 10 million worth of products through GCV barter. However, because pioneers had no Pi available in their wallets, many transactions relied on contracts without Pi or fiat settlement. This created no usable GCV data, and eventually many merchants—unable to sustain operations—left the movement. From this experience, one truth became clear: > Sustainability is essential. Passion alone is not enough. We must be rational, prepared, and educated. To succeed, we must: Use partial Pi + partial fiat Build education before expansion Protect merchants as carefully as pioneers If pioneers only demand from merchants, the economy cannot survive. If merchants collapse, GCV collapses. This realization is why I began writing the Pioneer’s Handbook—to align pioneers and merchants under one sustainable economic vision. --- 2. Expanding Beyond Borders — The Global Rise of GCV By 2023, it became clear that China alone could not generate sufficient global GCV data. GCV had to rise worldwide. Many pioneers who doubted GCV did so not out of malice—but from lack of study or misunderstanding of economic authority.
