Introducing a new Interfaces issue: Accessibility as Craft Accessibility is often overlooked, but it deserves the same care as every other part of an interface. This issue goes in depth on how accessibility works on the web and covers best practices and useful tips.

You can read the issue below. It's one of my favorites because it embodies what Interfaces is about. Small, often invisible things can go a long way toward making the web work better for everyone.

The /better collection of skills also contains /better-accessibility, which helps you find and fix common accessibility issues. Give it a shot :)

im tryna steal your design

great read - was awesome to preview it

My favourite pass-time is to 𝚝𝚊𝚋 around the Interfere dashboard. Going to add Interfaces as my second favourite site for this!

When I get to heaven, one of the first things I’m going to ask is how many people with disabilities actually used my website 😇

That's fair but it's better to be safe than sorry. There are also concepts in accessibility that don't only benefit people with disabilities such as hit areas, proper focus sequencing etc. :)

Ha, I’m half joking! Completely agree with that.

So good

It's sooo good, Jakub! Did you design your ideas in Figma first and then code them?

Thank you! :) Nope, I only design in code unless it's something very specific.

Love the interface

Accessibility makes more sense when it’s treated as part of interface quality. Visible keyboard focus is a small detail that makes an interface much easier to use.
