Introducing an AI robotic integrator. An agent that handles an entire deployment for MicroFactory end-to-end. Powered by the latest Astra and Opus models, it designs tooling, writes computer vision code, and guides a human operator, taking care of all the boring parts of hardware production. Demos:

A typical challenging manufacturing task, solved with code written by a frontier model: picking a button from a pile precisely and in the correct orientation to place it into a housing. 1. The robot opens and closes its gripper until it grabs one or two buttons. 2. Drops them onto a platform so it can pick them up one at a time with precise alignment. 3. If a button is the wrong side up, it keeps tossing it until it flips. 4. If the buttons are too close together, it moves the gripper between them to separate them. If a problem occurs, the agent steps in, edits the code to handle it, and adds a verifications.

congrats @ihorbeaver ! MicroFactory has prob generated more real value than any of this robotics neolabs out there

Most labs are trying to put the frontier model on the robot. You’re doing the unsexy version, model designs the jig, patches the code when two buttons stick, then the code runs cheap and fast. Integration was always the bill. You just productized it.

Precisely what I started working on, but for a machine shop. Nicely done.

Guided integrators could help factories automate awkward pick-and-place tasks without robotics teams.

Awesome

The interesting bottleneck here is not code generation but the handoff between generated tooling, vision checks, and the operator. Did you measure how often the agent catches a bad calibration before the arm touches the workcell?

@Em_Nomadic Misread as “ai interrogator”. Was alarmed at the dexterity.

The unsexy middle layer is where real automation lives. But I wonder how this scales when the "boring parts" vary wildly between factories.

Bin picking a button in the right orientation is exactly where integrator hours usually go. Curious whether the agent also tunes for cycle time, or stops once the pick succeeds reliably.
