A GUY PUT GPT-LEVEL AI INSIDE A 3D PRINTED ROBOT AND RELEASED THE ENTIRE THING FOR FREE Most people look at a 3D printer and see plastic toys This guy printed a robot with expressive eyes, object tracking, image recognition, support for ChatGPT, Qwen and offline models, then uploaded the STL files, code and hardware designs for anyone to build themselves The interesting part isn't the robot It's how fast the gap between "I have an idea" and "I built a working product" is disappearing A few years ago this required a team of engineers Now one person with a printer, open-source software and enough curiosity can build something that looks like it came from a robotics startup We're getting very close to a world where manufacturing, AI and robotics stop being separate industries and start becoming the same thing

This system uses a KUKA robot to create intricate, 3D designs in cocktails. The robot "injects" microliter drops of edible liquid into a cocktail, instead of building up objects layer by layer, as with a normal 3D printer. The robot is used to inspect the walls of ships. 🚢 The Magnet Crawler introduced by the University of Bremen is a lightweight and compact climbing robot for magnetic surfaces. The robot has two magnetic wheels driven by geared motors and an elastic tail to improve stability. In the front part of the robot, there is a miniature wireless camera. The robot is remotely teleoperated & the video signal from the camera is displayed to the operator on a portable screen. Let's wait and perhaps the robot will become more autonomous over time. Big fan of robots that make the world a safer place for humans.

Well, it's Saturday. A perfect moment to watch a robot giving you a new haircut, right? 💇🏼‍♂️ This robot created by Shane Wighton will not only do a great haircut or trim the sides but is also able to chat with you. During the pandemic, the creator of StuffMadeHere built this robot to give himself a haircut. It offers different types of hairstyles and uses scissors. Parts of the robot were printed using a 3D printer. Fantastic design, but further down the line I'm wondering if I'm brave enough to let the robot give me a trim. Probably not yet. I would like to know more details about the safety and reliability of the system. P.S. What are your honest thoughts on this project?

Six arms instead of two! 🤯 Midea Group humanoid robot has six arms instead of two. It handles heavy components with lower limbs and performs fine assembly work with upper limbs. Full 360-degree rotation, stable vertical lifting, rapid tool-swapping. The robot handles workstation transitions that would typically require multiple human workers or separate machines. So no idle-time between stations. Pretty cool. But I'm really curious about the cost, and how this 6-arms robot compares to a regular robot arm, and then to a regular humanoid What do yo think? HopTo’s Hop-1 is a hybrid hopping-and-flying robot built for rough terrain. It looks weird at first, but the logic is actually pretty smart. Flying all the time burns a ton of energy just fighting gravity, so they let the robot spend most of its time bouncing on a passive spring instead. The rotors mainly steer, put back the energy lost on each hop, and only fully take over when the robot actually needs to fly. HopTo says hopping uses around 25% of the energy of continuous flight. So the whole idea is pretty simple: stay on the ground as much as possible, and only fly when you have to.
