Introducing BeyondPDF, a smart, free, fully-local (wifi-less) PDF search app for MacOS. "Free" has always connoted to "It's free but we will steal your data"... not anymore. Whats wrong with MacOS's Preview? It's great... but I NEED smart/semantic search. Searching for words is tedious but searching for ideas is...

People don't realize how simple this is. All the heavyweight lifting has been done by the people who made the model. For non compelex PDFs, it's as simple as text in -> simple semantic chunks -> embed chunks -> pandas df and boom done. The most impressive part is the ui lol

Now that I am home and have access to my files I decided to do a quick test with one of my Vtubing avatars. It works way better with my larger iPad Pro (less crashing/more memory and more screen space) compared to the mini so I did want to bring that up. Importing the file over as GLB was more stable than just OBJ plus it kept the color info from the previous texture. I texture all my avatars on substance painter but have been looking at an alternative when I am out and about that is not on the computer and this actually hits all the right "wants". Adding a quick video of the way the app works for me. I like that it has layers, I can alter my brushes and even add stabilization when I am drawing (which I use that extensively on procreate so that was a huge plus). The stamp tools will come in handy as well but did not show it on this video. The file itself is imported as "one mesh" but each part is treated as their own separate piece which I show in the video. I do the same thing on substance painter making it really easy for me to texture. The app then exports the texture out for each object which is the same way I do so on substance. Overall I am extremely impressed with the work Sparseal has done on this application and see how useful this will be for my current work flow of texturing. I for one love the ability to be "portable" which is a big reason I sculpt so much with Nomad Sculpt on the iPad. Having the freedom to do your work away from a desk and if you feel like doing it outside is probable why I yearn for iPad apps so much like so. Give this app a look, it is free to try on the App Store (It is $19 to be able to export, but a one time buy). It is called "Wafer" for the iPad. I already use CozyBlanket from the same creator to do re topology so I expected this level of fantastic with this current app.

Not sure if I'm the only one but I think WHOOP isn't very good tracking lifting weights It generally doesn't auto detect weight lifting (instead showing it as ACTIVITY) and then rates it as low strain compared to cardio, probably because it's lower BPM But that doesn't really make sense, I can do an extremely heavy lifting workout that hurts for days after but WHOOP will show a strain of 6 Then I go for a light bicycle ride and it's a strain of 12, simply because it gets my heart BPM up This problem is confirmed to me by people at WHOOP but since it's so hard to measure the strain of lifting with their sensors they prefer to not estimate lifting too heavy, instead they want people to write down their specific lifting workouts in the WHOOP app everytime But like nobody has time for that Also since it never auto detects weight lifting (eventhough it's the only workout type I ever set, so it should just default), I have to go back to every single workout in the app of the last couple of days to manually change it to Weight Lifting which is tedious (especially with that link workout popup everytime + the calendar resetting to today straight after) I think WHOOP is made for runners but they forgot people also need to lift weights and it has a bias to cardio This actually has been influencing a lot of my friends to run more which is good but I still think it's a massive bias as strength training is super important for longevity too Will Ahmed Viviano

introducing a new home for all my apps i'm also releasing the biggest update to fowlvoice yet, give it a try, it's free forever (don't know why lol, fuck it) be patient with me, i'm a one-potato team, if you run into ANY bugs, dm me and i'll get them sorted immediately i tested it on my second mac, but of course that's never enough 🙂 i'm also dropping fowyring, a mac app switcher that works with a flick of your cursor we've seen these apps before, but they're always overengineered and miss basic ux details like hiding an app when you select it again fowyring is light, native, and instant, it gets out of your way so you can get to your most-used apps as quickly as possible this is just the beginning, as you may have seen from my teasers, i'm building an ade (i'm retarded) it's a native swift app and i've been using it every day for the past 4 weeks, i built it because i couldn't find anything with the features i wanted i desperately need a team i can't afford right now, my new projects deserve good demos and beautifully animated visuals, and frontier models are still dog shit at making those i've also been building a notes app and a todo app, they're almost ready for showtime and i've been using them daily, i love them both are native swift apps with their own cli and little bits of intelligence scattered throughout that you can enable with your existing codex subscription oh and fowybreak, a tiny menu bar app that reminds you to take a break from your screen because you're working too much lookaway does the same thing, but i hated all the extra shit in it, so i made my own it's been ready for a while, i just need to find the time to release it properly this is all i have in this life, i put everything into fowllabs, every moment i have i don't go out, i don't do shit love and appreciate you

BREAKING: GPT-5.6 Sol is out—AND Codex has been merged into ChatGPT Desktop as ChatGPT Codex. This combo model and desktop app harness are the gold-standard for knowledge work in AI. 5.6 is powerful, fast, half the price of Fable, and my default for almost everything. We’ve been testing it internally Every 📧 for about a month across coding, writing, design, and knowledge work. Here’s our day-zero vibe check: - An A-tier coder—but it’s not Fable. Sol scored 56/100 on our Senior Engineer benchmark compared to a 91 for Fable. I think the 56/100 undersells it, it's an excellent implementor, and very smart. But Fable just writes conceptually cleaner code and works better at the top end of task complexity. PRO-TIP: Use GPT-5.6 as Fable's subagent for the most goated combo in AI coding. - The best writer of the frontier models. It’s clearer and more concise than Fable or Opus 4.8, without the overexplaining or weird private language. It can one-shot marketing emails, help you workshop taglines, and explain complex concepts clearly. It's also super fast, which makes it easy to collaborate with. - Design is better, but not top-tier. It has noticeably more taste than 5.5, but Fable and Opus 4.8 are still playing at a different level. See examples in the video and vibe check below. - The real leap is knowledge work. Sol is the first model I’ve trusted to run whole loops of knowledge work—not just help with individual tasks. I use it to process email, surface decisions from meetings and Slack, find job candidates, scan Facebook Marketplace for furniture, and log my meals. It has shifted my job from doing the work to tending the system that does it. - The merged app is fine. I was extremely worried about this because I love the Codex app. OpenAI was caught in an interesting position: How to make an agent orchestration app for regular ChatGPT consumers, coders, and businesses all in one app. They now split the interface between ChatGPT Work and ChatGPT Codex. They're basically the same except Work hides code. And "Chat" has been demoted to 2nd tier status for quick questions in either one. It's not a big leap, but it's not a huge setback either. And it remains my favorite of the desktop agent orchestration apps. Verdict: If I really had to put my finger on it, I'd say Fable has way more big model smell. But that means it's a skill in itself to get value out of it—99% of people are still not there yet. GPT-5.6 is almost as powerful, but is easy to use, fast, and relatively cheap. It should give you an early sense of where model work is going. Full Every 📧 Vibe Check:

i did it. i vibe-coded my own vibe-noding app⚡️ lately every ai tool has been announcing some kind of node canvas. they’re all impressive in their own way, but each one solves a different problem, with a different logic, in a different universe. some are too technical, some are too rigid, most feel like they were designed by a backend engineer. so i built the version i actually want to use. over the last few days i hacked this together with Google Gemini and Google Antigravity. the tool is absurdly capable. i didn’t touch a single line of code. the result is a fully working app with smooth ui animations, smart interactions, and a workflow that doesn’t fight me. my focus isn’t on the models. Nano Banana 2 Lite is already strong enough to generate half a universe on its own. and a year from now, we won’t care about model juggling anyway. we’ll have one model doing everything. the real problem is the workflow. the interface. the flow state. so i optimized for that. the whole point is to keep the technical junk out of the way during ideation and iteration. i want to try an idea, branch it, remix it, explore it, all on a single canvas. every block is editable. every idea is forkable. every path is visible. the design isn’t perfect yet. some of the ui patterns are familiar on purpose. good ideas deserve to be stolen. i rushed it. i let a bunch of great ui decisions die for speed. but it works. and honestly, it feels great to use. future of creating is more organic and more fluid. not just chat bubbles. not rigid feeds. but an intelligent canvas where ideas can grow, split, collapse, or evolve without friction. where the environment quietly adapts to your workflow instead of interrupting it. this is my first version. just for myself, for now. but it’s a start.
