Introducing: biking at night. I don’t normally record at night bc it makes for a pretty boring video, but about 1 minute in you can see some bats flying above me on the Midtown Greenway. This was a perfectly average ride from St Paul to Minneapolis on Tuesday night. 1/2

Crime happens. Nothing is without risk, including driving (car crashes are #1 cause of death for Americans aged 1-54). The biggest risk to my safety while biking at night is a distracted driver hitting me… so I use lights & take protected routes, away from cars - w/ the🦇. 2/2

@midtowngreenway Biking at night is awesome. I'm also probably safer from distracted drivers at night because I have a very bright light and flashing lights both front and rear. Trail biking at night is especially fun.

@midtowngreenway 💯 I look like a Christmas tree at night. Front light, rear light, pedal lights, high viz panniers and in cooler weather a fully reflective jacket.

@midtowngreenway I love riding at night and so does Sigrid. Tell you what though: hard as hell to film a pure white cat at night. It's either too dark to pick anything up, or she's just a blinding ball of pure white.

@midtowngreenway I used to ride at night all the time. I have been hit in the helmet by diving bats… a bit scary.
