Been watching a lot of footage of 2028 QB and now Alabama commit Charles Scott Jr. According to 247 in 2025 the 6’5, 255 lb sophomore threw for around 3,600 yards and 41 TDS on 178 completions. Only throwing 4 INTs!!! Scott Jr (son of his high school coach) has obvious massive upside given his size. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that already as a sophomore, he has an SEC build. The Good: - Kid is LARGE, much like Alabama’s recent five star commit Elijah Haven, Scott’s size allows him a full view of everything going on around him on the field. Mechanics benefit from his size - strong throwing platform. - Flashes plenty of natural strengths, including an explosive arm that doesn’t seem to have to work very hard to push the ball vertically. - Even as a developing HS quarterback, Scott Jr already shows a lot of finesse. Accuracy in highlight tape (provided below from Scottboyz on YouTube) is on the upswing, especially on layered and touch passes. - Although not technically a massive run threat, Scott Jr, given his size, can stress defenders on the ground, especially in short yardage situations. Areas for Refinement: - Shows promise with timing routes, but will get better as he matures over the next couple of season. - Mechanics are not fully polished as to be expected from a young QB, but raw traits still shine. Footwork under pressure! - Will grow into faster processing speeds as he continues his path. Will need this as he makes the talent jump to the SEC. All-in-all, this is a rising recruit in the 2028 class - one that will garner a ton of attention over the next several months, especially now that Alabama fully seated at the head of the table. Another potential eval masterclass from Kalen DeBoer, Ryan Grubb, and Bryan Ellis. The scheme fit for Scott Jr is perfect at Alabama. The size and arm talent are there, with touch on the way. Combined with intangibles such as high football IQ (coaches son) and a very strong relationship with Tide staff - this is a solid pickup for Alabama. The QB position remains in great hands moving forward in Tuscaloosa.

Must-see video: This angle tells more of the story from the on-the-field brawl that broke out in a high school football game Friday night in Georgia. Today, the Georgia High School Association suspended 39 members of the Gainesville football team for “violating sportsmanship and sideline control bylaws, including players leaving the bench area during the incident.” Gainesville Supt. Jeremy Williams said the school will be appealing the decision on Tuesday. “While we typically do not condone this type of behavior, we will not sit back and watch our teammates be assaulted by ripping off helmets, punching, and barreling over a helmet-less player,” Williams said. “The large majority of our team entered the field with the intent to separate and resolve the incident, not escalate. “Every true team would do the same. It’s disappointing that a hard-line interpretation of the rule was applied, and we will be appealing.” When you see the angle of this video, it’s hard to disagree with Supt. Williams. This is not a situation any adult school leader wants to be associated with, but we all know any team - any level - would’ve helped their teammates out. Any parent, any friend, any leader would’ve done the same if their family member, friend or employee was attacked. There needs to be some common sense here, because rules are made as guidelines - not as hard strict laws in the #GameOfLife. If they were, we wouldn’t have people who have been arrested 10, 15, 20or 30 times walking the streets in some cities committing even more crimes. *Thank you to the contact for passing this video along. #MoreThanJUSTGames

🏈 🔥 WATCH all the way through the end of this video to see spirited high school football players at South County High School exercise their civic duty to speak up for celebrated football coach Gerry Pannoni, who just lost his coaching job in a case of alleged retaliation in Fairfax County Public Schools. What’s more: FCPS allegedly shut down the South County football program and let go ALL of the coaches until a new coach is named and removed access to coach access to Hudl, a video platform, hurting students who are being recruited by colleges. In June 2024, I began reporting a local high school story for the Fairfax County Times Pearl Project with sports reporter G, and it became Virginia’s biggest youth sports scandal: controversial recruiting practices at Hayfield Secondary School in Fairfax County Virginia that led to a wider community reckoning on the issue of integrity in sports and calls for the resignation of fcpssupt Michelle Reid for her mishandling of the case. Today, at South County High School in Lorton, Va., about 300 football players, athletes and students streamed out of Door No. 1 at 2 PM to march on Laurel Crest Drive, shouting, “Reinstate Coach P.” Last year, Pannoni and other coaches raised red flags about alleged recruitment problems at Hayfield, and the school district official told coach Pannoni on Friday that he had lost his job. Parents and coaches say they are hearing that Reid is allegedly planning to retaliate against all the coaches for embarrassing her. FCPS denies the charge. FCPS sent a media relations officer to follow the march. He sat in the back of an FCPS security cruiser. FCPS Superintendent Reid investigated Pannoni for an audio tape with parents, indelicately describing the Hayfield recruiting as akin to “grooming.” We have learned that the principal had allegedly told Pannoni that students didn’t feel “safe”around the coach. The students I interviewed reveal a different story: speaking about Pannoni’s positive impact on their lives. “We love Coach Pannoni,” said many a student. This story speaks to wider issues about transparency, accountability, and integrity in both governance and school districts. Today, high school students spoke out when the issue touched their lives very personally, speaking up with clarity for a coach they respect. At the end, you will hear some students ask me who I am and I softly introduce myself with the Fairfax County Times. One calls us heroes for documenting this story and investigating its details. We are not heroes, but the story speaks to the heroic mission of local journalism in bringing truth to communities, from South County High School to beyond. We couldn’t report it without brave whistleblowers. Read all of our coverage here:

At the heart of children’s social and emotional development is self-awareness – a growing sense of who they are as individuals. Over the next several weeks I’ll be partnering with The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood (the UK’s Royal Foundation Centre on Early Childhood) to explore children’s social and emotional development in celebration of the Centre’s newest publication, The Shaping Us Framework (a link to which you can find in the first reply below). For infants, knowing oneself – the first of six skill clusters identified in the Framework – is a skill developed from square one. Which is to say that, as newborns, we are not yet equipped with the self-awareness necessary to understand ourselves as independent beings. Indeed, it is not until 6-9 months of age that we begin to realize that we are separate from our caregivers. How we come to understand ourselves is, in part, a reflection on how we are responded to from our earliest moments. Speaking of reflections, did you know that it’s not until 15-18 months that infants recognize that the reflection in a mirror is actually them? Check out this lovely video example, shared to TT by talinfakhoorian, in which her son finds delight in interacting with the hilarious new “friend” he’s found in the mirror. As he grows, his sense of self will develop in important new ways. In the next post in this series, I’ll talk about the emergence of agency and the importance of allowing your toddler to make appropriate choices of their own.

Introducing: The Life of David Rhoiney A sneak peek behind the scenes of a major new Infinite Media film & book project chronicling the extraordinary journey of Dr. David Rhoiney (SurgiFi). ___ David Rhoiney was born at the bottom. As an impoverished African American child, he survived seemingly unbearable hardships, from street violence to homelessness. Yet, despite the bleakest prospects, his adult years have been defined by a series of astonishing successes. This desperate yet brilliant boy became a complex, ambitious man who refused to let himself be beaten by the dire circumstances he found himself in. Now a qualified robotic surgeon, David has also excelled as a Division I athlete in basketball and track, a U.S. Navy cryptologist, a financial educator, a public speaker, and a web designer. This is a story of ambition, ruthlessness, sacrifice, hubris, intelligence, stubbornness, loss, and, ultimately, hope. This is the story of how David Rhoiney reached the top. ___ For the full story of this multimedia project and to sign up for updates and behind-the-scenes previews, just follow the link to our Substack in the thread. In the meantime, before filming kicks off in 2024, we’re excited to present an exclusive pre-production trailer produced by the talented filmmaker Zachary Tannar, who joined David's biographer @Ed_Wi11iam earlier this year to visit David at his home in Virginia. This teaser isn’t a trailer for the film but an early opportunity to become acquainted with David and his story—in his words, in his voice—so you can see for yourself the depth and drama of the story to come. Enjoy...👇👇
