At MIT, I learned about RNNs in my NLP class with Prof. Michael Collins. He built a model from my keystrokes to predict who I was. To me, it felt like a magic box. Years later, when I had to teach RNNs, I forced myself to go inside the box. ⬇️ Download: First, with a tiny example on paper by hand ✍️. Then, a slightly larger one in Excel. That’s when it finally clicked: 👉 The weights are reused (weight matrices on the left side) 👉 The hidden states are passed down (H's) When I built it by hand and saw everything visually, it clicked, just math you can actually trace. One of my favorite features in Windrose (Windrose ) is the auto-deposit similar. Whenever you approach a storage box, you can automatically place all items from your inventory that are already in the box at the push of a single button. This is great for me because I play with Johnny, who I don't think has ever heard the word organized. Do you guys have a survival friend like that? You spend ages carefully placing and organizing boxes, just to be met with chaos every time they return to base? 🤣

With ChatGPT Atlas, we aim to push the boundary of what a browser can be — integrating ChatGPT and evolving it into an agent that takes action for you. But even as we build that future, the basics still matter. For most people we talk to, their tab strip is overflowing with too many tabs (mine certainly is!). This week's Atlas release: revamped tab search and a new 'auto organize' your tabs button. Click to remove duplicates, merge windows, or let ChatGPT group your tabs in a way that makes sense. Just hit “update” in the top right to try.
