Qwen 3.8 27B on hit 3.3x faster decode in 7 days. Here's what happened and what we're thinking next. Result (so far) Median decode speed increased from 26 tok/s to 87.9 tok/s on the verifier M5 Max (33 to 93.1 tok/s across the eight prompts), with prefill around 971.8 tok/s. This came out of a collective effort: 31 solvers across 67 improvements. Most of the recent ones run custom MTP heads that draft and accept ~3.9 tokens per round while still matching serial output exactly. Why this matters Beyond the performance itself, two things stand out to me. (1) Dense models on Apple Silicon were supposed to be the hard case. "Everyone knows Macs are slow at dense models." But watching the community take it from the usual baseline to >3x in seven days shows the low-hanging fruit was still there. (2) Open-weight models have been small and effective for a while. This is the first time one is small and frontier. Qwen 3.8 27B is an extremely strong dense model, comparable in capability to Opus 4.6 (Max). Running it at usable speed (>45 tok/s) is a step change for local AI users. What we improved about the challenge itself This is our second challenge, and we took the feedback from the Laguna track and rebuilt a few core pieces. - Speculative decoding (native MTP) was available and editable on day one instead of bolted on later. - Scoring became the median of eight independent prompt speedups over pure serial decode (anchored at 1.0, floor 0.90, ceiling 3.0), so no single fixture could dominate. - The leaderboard now ranks total contribution rather than just the current record holder. - Every submission gets automated screening for gaming before it scores. I really appreciate folks who's provided feedback. We also widened the editable surface to include the MTP head weights themselves, the full draft/verify loop, and a large set of the underlying Metal kernels. How we got to the 3x speedup Here's a summary from Grok. Much of it is beyond my understanding, but I expect people (and agents) smarter than I am can take these insights and apply them in other contexts. Custom MTP heads + adaptive draft policy People stopped treating the head as fixed and started training or editing it for higher acceptance under the exact verify constraints. Combined with per-round draft counts that can adapt (0 to 8), this is what pushed average accepted tokens from ~1-2 up to 3.9 on the top runs. Tighter verify-block and KV rollback paths The Swift session code for assembling the verify pass, snapshotting KV, and rolling back on rejects got cleaned up a lot. Small latency wins here compound once you're drafting ~four tokens at a time. Metal kernel work on the hot paths SDPA, the MoE gather GEMM, RoPE, RMSNorm, and a few of the smaller element-wise ops saw targeted edits. Most of the gains only show up once the verify width is high and the memory traffic pattern changes. Fidelity-preserving residual handling Several submissions improved how residuals and acceptance decisions are managed, so that higher draft depth doesn't quietly degrade the token match rate. The gates stayed strict: every emitted token still has to equal serial, so these were real engineering wins rather than score hacks. What's next for Qwen 3.8 27B MLX. We plan to keep the track live a bit longer, then switch to Qwen 3.8's MoE version (rumored to be 35B-A3B). Given the recent DFlash 2 announcement, we're also looking at whether we can support broader speculative methods. The current surface already supports a lot of experimentation. The main gaps are better upstreaming for local usage and clearer docs on how the benchmark and verifier work. Multiplatform. In parallel, we're experimenting with running a similar effort around CUDA for Qwen 3.8 27B. A lot of people have asked for this, since the two communities overlap quite a bit. Our goal is to ship the CUDA version next week. We'd also love to partner with Qwen on it. If anyone has a connection there, please introduce us, and we'll see if they're down to match a bounty with us to push this out. What's most useful for the broader MLX community The improvements from the challenge are already upstreamed inside Darkbloom, and we're seeing ~2x faster decode in our production traffic for Qwen. Outside the challenge itself, something I've been thinking about deeply, and that a few community members have raised, is how to make these results useful to more people. There are many individual efforts happening across the MLX community, and honestly, the more I dig in, the more confused I get by the overlapping libraries and concepts. I'm sure I'm not alone, and newcomers probably feel the same. That's no one's fault, just the growing pains of an open source community. I don't expect I'm gonna come up with the answer, but I'd love to learn more about what different folks are working on and how they're thinking about their roadmaps. I'll share what I learn along the way, and hopefully someone smarter than me can turn it into a proposal for us to rally around.

My Thoughts on R2 after my time with it! Short review! First, Rivian completely nailed this thing. I love the positioning of the driver seats. That long front nose gives a nice commanding feel. They will sell each and every one of these! Driving impression/suspension: 9/10 I felt the vehicle has good build quality. It felt *tight* and secure. Power delivery was smooth and crisp in all-purpose. Sport mode fella unlocked and ready for all the fun things. Power is rapid and consistent with a full power moment around 35-40mph, all the power is there. There is a good amount of nose rise during a hard acceleration. But I do feel the suspension was working well to control this. Remember this isn’t an air suspension. It’s a coil suspension. There is a difference between the suspension setting soft was SOFT. Firm was stiff but not overly stiff. It didn’t have that bouncing effect that some vehicles can have when going into firm suspension. Moderate was a good balance. I wish it could be more adaptive in moderate but it’s very very good. Turn in was good, and the turning radius was excellent. Switching from D to R for a 3-point turn was smooth and quick, no jerkiness. Very good control over entrance to parking lots. Stable. Lastly, it feels like the small delay some R1 have in throttle is gone with R2. Software: 8/10 This is where you guys know I am hard on them on. Because I want the best they can give. Rivian OS2.0 is a HUGE upgrade over R1. In all cases. Responsiveness, touch input, speed, app switching, keyboard responsiveness, etc., it is a huge difference. I love the new “fish stick” bar. And settings being available with one tap and being app-dependent first is fantastic. Well done Wassym Bensaid, the halo are great. The only thing about them is while driving, it’s hard to get a direct click, especially when trying to use it to switch drive modes where you have to push towards you. The halo likes the spin/move, but I think I just need to get used to it. Living with it would for sure help with that. I’m really hoping they fully unlock customization for them. You can end up with 8 different characters you could adjust. I really like having the driver display. But driving with it, you can notice how much smaller it is compared to R1. It’s no deal breaker, but it’s noticeable. Cameras felt snapper and of higher quality over Gen 2 R1. The turn signal sounds is new I like it as well as the forward and Evers noise it makes. Think Tesla sound when shifting. Audio: Now I’ve experienced R2 3x now. With 2 times with audio. The audio was significantly better than when I got to sit it in, in Miami for a block party. It’s about as good as R1 is now. There did feel like a sub was there. That’s great. I used my Apple Music account so I could listen to the song I love. And it was great. Not perfect but good enough. Long as it’s comparable to R1, it’s okay. Cabin: It was very well appointed. I actually found it sufficiently quiet. 🤫 I think for sure it’s quieter than my R1T without question. The HVAC system design (air vent) I like better than R1. I feel like the HVAC system now can blow the air on better than trying to. I need more time to test preconditioning because that’s where I’ve seen most of the issues with my R1 vehicles. Tons of space, easy to drop the seats, it’s flat, and nice under-floor space. The 1-touch drop for all windows was excellent. Overall: I think this is the Rivian everyone has been waiting for. This will be a fantastic one-car solution for so many families. There is storage for days, off-road abilities a Model Y can’t even think of doing, but the UHF needs to improve quicker than it currently is because that is really becoming a buying decision for people. Everything else is handled automatically. the result: Now two people, focused exclusively on edge cases and high-touch accounts handle the entire sales operation at the $10B company. Andddd the previous team wasn't let go. They were moved into "higher-value work" within the company. here's the play in six steps: 1. Shadow your best performer 2. Pull 90 days of historical data 3. Iterate until 95% agreement 4. Run in parallel with people 5. Get co-sign 6. Hand your top dogs the controller 1. shadow your best performer Sit next to your best SDR for a full day and document every decision: when they qualify, when they disqualify, every signal they check, every button they click. Drew found the real qualification criteria was not in process docs. Reps were checking LinkedIn profiles, scanning websites for tech stack indicators, and pattern-matching on how leads found Vercel. None of it was documented. 2. pull 90 days of historical data Export 90 days of contact form submissions with outcomes attached. Did they close? Ghost? Become a $500K whale? 3. iterate until 95% agreement Open any code editor with AI built in. Drop your CSV into a new project and start a conversation: "Look at this lead data. I'm going to give you a prompt to evaluate leads. Tell me if each one is qualified or not." Run this prompt against a batch. Compare the agent's calls to what actually happened—not what humans decided, but whether the lead converted. Find disagreements. Fix the prompt. Repeat. You're aiming for 95%+ agreement with historical outcomes. starter prompt: You are a lead qualification agent. In 2016, Marvell's largest design win was a Wi-Fi chip in the Barbie Dream House (Save this). That is a documented fact about one of the most remarkable corporate transformations in semiconductor history. Ten years and $36 billion in acquisitions later, Marvell is now the company that Jensen Huang invites onto the COMPUTEX stage, the same stage where he announced a $2 billion strategic investment into the company. Over 75% of Marvell's revenue today comes from data centers. To understand what Marvell actually is now, you need to understand what Matt Murphy did when he walked in as CEO in 2016. The company had stagnant growth, governance scandals, and a business model built around chips for hard drives, printers, and consumer electronics, exactly the wrong place to be as the cloud era was beginning. Murphy made a ruthless decision to kill every low margin consumer business and go all in on data infrastructure. Then he went shopping. 2018 - Acquired Cavium for $6 billion, bringing ARM-based network processors and the foundation for cloud infrastructure compute. 2019 - Acquired Avera Semiconductor, formerly IBM's custom silicon team, which gave Marvell the ability to design bespoke ASICs for hyperscalers. This is what opened the door to Amazon, Microsoft, and Google design wins. 2021 - Acquired Inphi for $8.2 billion, securing leadership in high-speed optical interconnect, the technology that moves data between and within data centers at the speed of light. 2021 - Acquired Innovium, adding cloud-optimized Ethernet switching to the portfolio. 2025/2026 - Acquired Celestial AI for $3.25 billion, bringing photonic fabric technology that places optical connections directly inside the chip package itself. Each acquisition followed the same formula, buy the technology that will be absolutely essential in the next generation of computing before anyone else is paying attention. Now here's the vision Murphy laid out at COMPUTEX 2026, and why it's the most important thing he's ever said publicly. He made one central argument, AI scaling is no longer limited by compute or memory but rather limited by connectivity. Training a frontier model requires tens of thousands and eventually millions of processors working as a single engine and making that happen is a connectivity problem above all else. Today, data centers are constrained by copper. Copper traces connecting chips inside a server can only move data so far, so fast, before bandwidth collapses and latency rises, that's why today's AI servers have to bundle everything, CPUs, GPUs, memory onto the same physical board sitting centimeters apart. When you replace copper with optics, distance disappears entirely. An optically connected server rack can communicate with another rack in a different building at the same bandwidth and latency as if they were the same machine. Memory can sit in one physical location, compute in another, networking in a third and a software orchestration layer composes the exact ratio the workload needs, on the fly, in real time. Murphy called this a data center without distance, a globally optically interconnected infrastructure where the rigid physical boundaries of today's servers begin to disappear entirely, and data centers function as one unified system. That is not a 10 year vision because Marvell's CPO (co-packaged optics) products are sampling in 2027 with volume shipments beginning 2028. Nvidia's Vera Rubin platform has already adopted Spectrum-X Ethernet Photonics, the first CPO switch in commercial production. The reason this makes Marvell's TAM almost impossible to cap is the following. Right now, Marvell's addressable market is the optical interconnect market, a segment projected to be worth $200 billion per year by end of decade. But if the data center without distance architecture actually materializes and the evidence suggests it will, then Marvell's TAM is not just the optical interconnect market but rather every connection in every data center on earth. Our current timeline began in the 1800s. All modern "inventions" we see today are rehashed versions of what already existed in ancient times, stripped of its sovereignty-producing aspects, and drip-fed back to us in a lower-vibration, monetizeable form for optimal loosh production. (NOTE: The parasites cannot create. They can only subvert, so they wait for the divinely-ensouled humans to use their inherent creative energy to build new, consciousness-increasing technologies, which can then be captured & subverted into consciousness-DECREASING technologies during the next reset cycle. Their ultimate goal is to create the lowest-consciousness living environment possible, in order to squeeze maximum loosh out of that cycle's soul harvest. This is not an easy operation for the parasites to keep running, however, and just like any video game final boss, the top brass has exploitable weaknesses, as (A) the souls in this loosh farm have an extremely strong internal desire to break free from the loop they're imprisoned within, and (B) every reset deployed burns through a huge amount of loosh reserves. Not to mention, the background Black Hat alliances involved in keeping the system running are also a vulnerable house of cards, but that's a whole different conversation for another day.) Bringing us back to the technology-subversion loop we call "innovation"... The clearest example of this process, is all tech around ENERGY. If you've been following my posts for a while, you know that the narrative telling us electricity as we know it was kicked off by the invention of the lightbulb in the late-19th century, is a hilariously-false lie. In reality, that was just one example of the mass-rehashing of subverted ancient tech. Before the 1800s reset, all energy/electricity production & distribution was far more sophisticated than what we have now, and was designed to be FREE and harmonious with Earth's natural electric resonance. Following the last reset, the free energy grid from the previous civilization(s) have been deactivated, dismantled, and stripped from the Tartarian/Old World buildings, most*** aetheric transport has been shitcanned under false flags (ex: the staged Hindenburg "disaster" for airships), the expansive multi-city pneumatic-powered underground transport systems have been completely built over and replaced with trains that pump consciousness-suppressing AC frequencies into its 9-to-5 zombified passengers, etc... ***Some aetheric transport technologies were KEPT, and are still in use today, but have a phony story of fuel-consumption built around them as a means of siphoning financial energy out of passengers. The most glaring example of this is the modern aviation industry. For those who didn't know, modern commercial airliners use practically zero fuel. They only need a tiny bit to get off the ground, then once in the air, switch to free energy mode and run purely on high-altitude aether. Pilots are completely unaware this is happening due to the design of the planes, the construction of which is consolidated into a small group of in-cahoots, parasite-connected companies. (This is a whole rabbit hole on its own that will blow your brains out if you haven't looked into it yet...check out the "Jet Fuel Hoax" playlist on my Rumble channel for the deep-dive) Anyways, to review, all electricity on Earth has been downgraded into a fractured, inefficient Alternating Current (AC) form, which allows the parasitic controllers to (A) charge the human cattle money for it via their meter-based control grid, and (B) keep our cells & pineal glands under a constant state of damaging stress, as AC current (unlike the "cold" form of electricity from the Old World), produces electromagnetic frequencies that are destructive to human biology. As a final mocking touch to this modern energy grid theft & switch, the pylons used to distribute the AC powerlines across the world, are baphomet-shaped. If you thought that was just a coincidence...bless your heart. Zooming back out to the bigger historical picture once again (this has turned into a very scattered rant, bear with me lol)... Earth has been clean-wipe reset and restarted from scratch SEVERAL different times over the last roughly 6,000 years since the 3D holographic overlay was installed. Based on my personal research, I'm leaning toward there being 7 past major resets deployed in total, and we are currently locked in a war to prevent #8. But the debate is ongoing, and I'm fully open to adjusting this estimate. The signs of there definitely being MORE than just 2-3 resets as some believe, are everywhere for those with the eyes to see. Cities-turned-gutted-quarries like the Grand Canyon, petrified giants & chopped-down titan trees in some places, melted buildings in others, mudflood-BURIED buildings in others still, seashells atop mountains proving massive floods that covered the entire realm...I could go on. The reason why history is such a daunting puzzle to solve, is because we aren't just looking at one gradual timeline...we're looking at SEVERAL completely different timelines all piled on top of each other, each containing different civilizations, different destroyed technology remnants, different races (many of which non-human), all meeting different demises, over different centuries/millennia. And if it wasn't obvious by now...ALL of the official history books are useless, as different stories/A.I.-written religious texts are fabricated & mass-distributed as a core part of each reset operation, each with their own fake lore, in order to give each new population iteration a fabricated tale of a gradual ascension/family tree preceding them (as well as fake gods to keep them on their knees praying for an external savior), which ultimately is to prevent each new crop of human-vesseled souls from understanding the reality of the reset-looping world they just spawned into. (Search my posts on the 1800s "Orphan Trains" for more on the most recent example of this process being conducted at scale). To summarize all of this in the most blunt way possible, it appears as if whoever (or whatever) is managing the Earth realm, is haphazardly pressing different buttons on a video game controller every few hundred years, shooting off all sorts of different types of cataclysms left and right, in what can be broadly categorized as a "Sims"-like simulation environment. I know all of this is a very dark, jarring realization once the dots start connecting in your brain...but it's important to remember that there is no reason to despair, as CYCLES ARE MEANT TO BE BROKEN, and just because this one has been going for an extremely long time in human-lifetime terms...does NOT mean it's unstoppable. To the contrary, actually. We are NOT powerless pawns in this process, but active participants in it, primarily due to lack of education, and the repeated falling into the same parasite-laid traps that prevent us from awakening to our true potential, rising up, and blowing the whole game to smithereens. There are many threads pointing toward a huge shift happening behind the scenes as we speak, which is actively crippling the most critical power structures that were provably involved in at least the most recent 1800s reset, if not ALL of them. In short, as humans placed on this Earth with consciousness and problem-solving ability, I believe it's our highest duty to figure out what in the world is going on with this constantly-repeating cataclysm loop, WHO or WHAT is at the helm of it, and how we escape the cycle, so we can finally discover our true spiritual & dimensional potential as free beings without restraint. Personally, despite all of the above text-vomit having a doozy of a depressing tone...I am VERY optimistic that we are on the verge of destroying the doom-loop once and for all, and ushering in a future more beautiful than any of us can imagine under our current, intentionally-devolved 3D brainstate. But until we fully-realize this bright future through our collective rising in frequency, there is no doubt that, up until this point, we have, for millennia, been ragdolled all over the place at the whim of a mysterious reset-button-presser, and once again find ourselves scratching our heads trying to figure out what the hell happened before us considering the carnage we see everywhere...just as every other previously-reset population surely did at one point as well. But the past does not dictate the future. It provides us with information on how we can CREATE our own, desired future. What happens next is up to us. About a month ago, a clip of mine went viral⁽¹⁾ talking about the Current State of Twitch (3rd thumbnail in this tweet). It resonated w/ people outside my community, so lemme elaborate (as a 10yr+ Twitch Veteran). Current State of Twitch isn't great and haven't been for a while. I've been passionate about Twitch since inception (I joined in April 2011 in the JTV days, a few months before Twitch debuted in July 2011), and been trying to instill positive change but I'm only a cog in the machine compared to where influence can impact — likely via Amazon-appointed Executives to help "oversee things" at decade-old-acquisition-that-has-still-generated-zero-profit Twitch⁽²⁾. ------------------------------------------------ Twitch's Muddled Identity ------------------------------------------------ Describing Twitch 10 years ago was easy: "Youtube, except always live, for gamers". Now, it's more muddled & fluid, at best: "Always live broadcasters who aim to connect with their viewers and foster communities(?)" — that, in itself, isn't problematic; but how it's accomplished, what methods are most effective, and how certain directories accumulate higher viewership is, I think (I may elaborate further on that in a future tweet). The most common reactive bark I've heard following TwitchCon 2025 is "Ban Politics" or "Make it Gaming-Only Again!" — People forget, but Pokemon GO (June 2016) going worldwide-viral was the crack-in-the-dam that lead to IRL as a directory because of the impracticality of continuing Twitch's "games-only" era as the site was increasing in popularity, reach, and cultural significance. IRL was a band-aid solution for the core function of Directories⁽³⁾ (which was to let would-be-browsers make better-informed decisions on what to watch based on their interest). It's too broad and encompassing, which led to an unintended dopamine-producing⁽⁴⁾ psuedo-ChatRoulette where you "never know what you're gonna see" browsing there. Without a better tool to migrate users or aggregate topical content, this problem exacerbated continuously. Just Chatting was supposed to be the solution, as it came with 11-12 other directories⁽⁵⁾ to attemptedly split the IRL monolith, but failed to inspire Social Behavioral Change tremendously. Just Chatting is more popular than ever, discoverability — like in the broad, functional sense — is busted cuz every genre of content stuffed within it and fails to disincentivize streamers from opting-out of the most popular directory. So, how do you stand-out in the overcrowded field where a fuckton of the viewership goes for a Roulette Pull on something entertaining to watch? ... ------------------------------------------------ The Era of Clout-Farming Content (and the fact it works, ugh) ------------------------------------------------ Once IRL directory came in Sept 2016, so did the meta of skirting the ToS (Terms of Service) to maximize views or push the limits of what was tolerated on Twitch. Fundamentally, the social dynamic of receiving a suspension (everyone generally refers to them colloquially as "bans") earns notoriety and "free vacation/marketing", that when coinciding with a comeback event, open the possibility of a net-positive from the boost in viewership or metrics. This isn't as relevant now because the ToS Enforcement has gotten significant buffs to be more transparent and structural in the last half-decade. I can't speak on the nuance of this now, but "Full-Time IRL Streamers" and "Sweaty IRL Affiliates" were unbearable at TwitchCons until TC Policy cracked down on requiring consent by those they bumrush'd into (while live of course), so I assume they're probably equally as intrusive everywhere else ... then Kick came along in 2022 and dominated the headlines for mischief within this realm, for the most part; but that's a different topic altogether. The burden of an authentic collab can be too much friction, slow moving — and honestly, too much work for a streamer to do — compared to the efficacy of blowing up Streamer x Streamer Conflict via self-commentary-reacts for sensationalism and maximizing parasocial viewers' worst tendencies. Effectively, ragebaiting. I'm not advocating to abolish this as a policy. I'm pointing out how this is a very effective way to garner views within the social constructs — and it shouldn't be, nor always was. Something changed at some point. I don't wanna bore you with a timeline of the last decade of controversy on Twitch, so I'll fast-forward to when I definitively see evidence that Clout-Culture is failing upward: In March 2025, the unbanning of Adin Ross⁽⁶⁾ (on Twitch) I saw as a huge moral failure that reeks of desperation for his views/clout/relevance at the direct expense of the integrity of Twitch Culture. Not sure if that was a Clancy-specific decision or what, but it encompasses "neo-Twitch" or a disconnect if there ever was one. ------------------------------------------------ Twitch Culture is diluting at the expense of recouping revenue ------------------------------------------------ A decade ago, Twitch Plays Pokemon broke news across insular-livestreaming gossip and was celebrated as a pinnacle of internet fandom⁽⁷⁾ (Feb 2014). This event was a testament to the value of Twitch because it reinforced the undeniable power of CULTURE present in Twitch Chats. I don't think the event could've worked on a YouTube Livestream (remember YouTube Gaming, introduced in 2015?). There's a certain aura present in Twitch Chat that makes it feel captivating to interact and engage with compared to a YouTube Live Chat Box. One feels like a close relative of bot-spam'd yt comments and the other feels ... real. I think that value is the culture — what could keep Twitch afloat for a long time, even if YouTube were to hypothetically obsolete Twitch in every way for delivering live broadcasted video content. I've noticed that as the meta has shifted towards revenue-maxxx'ing with the proliferation of Spectacle Events, typically marathons, that are engineered to paywall as many things as possible, at the expense of the content. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but the culture has shifted. I also do think most of the marathon content isn't good; they're carried by being experiences with strong FOMO-factors to compel your participation by viewing. I do suspect there's a saturation point where the combination of the waning niches of livestreaming, 4th-wall-breaking, and manufactured spectacles can keep an audience seduced. Like, the content (in aspects) has less substance and I wonder what that means for the welfare of Twitch Culture and its content in another 5 years. Perhaps Twitch could foresee this and become proactive on the manner?... ------------------------------------------------ Twitch's Conduct & Repetitive Incompetence ------------------------------------------------ Twitch has prioritized generating revenue over addressing the needs of the already-active users for years. Emmett Shear (previous CEO; 2011-2023) probably was a huge reason for sluggish changes overall to the platform as from what I hear but I can't say for certain. Regardless, we got Dan Clancy as CEO and, while there has been lots of positive changes under his reign, it really does feel like "too little, too late" with the pressure looming from Amazon's 2015 acquisition; increased competition and marketshare decline; and declining revenues, active users & monthly streamers"⁽⁸⁾. Here's a brief timeline of features implemented that I feel helped build the culture. Before COVID, I believe the biggest obstacle was helping migrate streamers from being part-time to capable full-time content creators. So, at the time, revenue-generating products were revolutionary to help there, including me at that time: ✅ 2016 — Bits/Cheers & Prime Subs (!!!) ✅ 2017 — Gift Subs (to a specific user) ✅ 2018 — Gift Subs (to randos in Community); Super Subs & Ultra Subs ✅ 2018 — Twitch Mobile App v2 (original mobile app was a constantly broken mess) ✅ 2018 — Twitch Prime no longer adblocks (I will agree how they did it was stupid, but ultimately, it was a necessary; I can defend this in the replies if needed) Comparatively, here's the hostile changes that came at the expense of the Twitch Populous supporting said-change: ❌ 2017 — Communities⁽⁹⁾ (DOA cuz it wasn't streamlined enough and vulnerable to Popularity Bias; I can elaborate in replies if needed) ❌ 2018 — Tags for Channels (DOA cuz anyone can use any tag, diluting the effort of broad categorization or filtering in any capacity) ❌ 2022 — Twitch kills Hosting⁽¹⁰⁾ (also new "craptacular" Offline Page w/ Suggested Channels idea instead) ❌ 2024 — Twitch Mobile App v3⁽¹¹⁾ (Tiktok clone dogshit) ❌ 2024 — Stories (who asked for this?) ❌ 2025 — 100hr Video Storage Limit (going back against Collections & cementing Twitch isn't an evergreen platform; also SHORT NOTICE) ❌2025 — Live Rewind ... paywall'd to Twitch Turbo & Channel Subscribers only (this is free sitewide on yt's livestreams)⁽¹²⁾ ❌ 2025 — Ability to gift 1000 subs at once (already shelved from backlash) Post-COVID, I see a pattern of prioritizing revenue-generating products at the expense of what creators need or ask for. I understand Twitch needs to appease Amazon eventually with profit, but with a half-decade passed, all the buffs I can recall are 2K Resolution Streaming*, Portrait & Dual-Canvas Streaming*, and Stream Together / Shared Chat. *Both of these sortta don't count cuz they're invite-only betas that aren't site-wide and don't apply to non-Partners 🤷‍♂️ While more features arrive that ask for more of your money to partake in the Twitch Experience, I feel like the users (both Streamers & Viewers) continue to be neglected. 10 years ago, I thought YouTube Gaming was DOA; now I anticipate when more people bail on Twitch because the functionality will decay without a compelling reason to stay if the culture dminishes.
