Introducing Human Input Detection, a new machine-learning layer of the FACEIT Anti-Cheat that detects cheaters by their in-game actions, not by the software they use. It continuously learns from millions of matches and gets better with every one. Live August 05 with Season 9.

Ok, I have few AI users in the book, and I will save them for the next season, to see if you will detect that. I do support fight against the cheaters. GL!

This is huge if it's well executed. Thanks for the efforts.

@FACEITcs Well rage cheaters are really rare in faceit. The bad ones are the ones who know how to play the game and add wallhack and aim assist on top of that.

Share anti-cheats with Valve? Even your outdated ones? Because you see they have non-existent ones.

its unfair to expect something like this from a small company such as valve. they only have about 10-20 billion dollars anyway.

@FACEIT Are you gonna collect data for 10 years?

FACEIT CS2's profile picture
FACEIT CS21 month ago

We've been testing this extensively and will be rolling it out gradually over the coming months, starting August 5. The data used to develop and improve the system is anonymized, and our data handling follows our established privacy policies and applicable data protection requirements. We're confident in its accuracy, and every action taken through this system can be reviewed through our appeals process.

@CommaCommon @FACEIT Only issue I can see arising with this is if the appeals process is ALSO ai. Need real humans to flag the false positives

@CommaCommon @FACEIT Human Input Detection is just one factor our team weighs before a ban, not an unmonitored trigger. Ban appeals are manually reviewed

So players who play like AI and troll you the Game get banned by anticheat too? Nice! Maybe empty servers soon though.

Really nice. I thought about this many times. How do you handle false positives? E.g. say your model has 99.99% accuracy, every 10k players you detect 1 will be false positive. How do you handle this case?

Human Input Detection is rolling out gradually with Season 9, starting with the highest-confidence cases. It's one of several factors our team considers before issuing a ban, not an automatic trigger, and every ban appeal is reviewed manually.

Couldn't this be problematic for unorthodox play styles? For example I spam keys constantly, like 1 and 3 non stop, and move my mouse sporadically. Most players dont aim or spam keys like I do. If that sets me apart from everyone else then couldn't it create a false positive?

This should not be the case. Human Input Detection is rolling out gradually with Season 9, starting with the highest-confidence cases. It's one factor our team weighs before a ban, not an unmonitored trigger, and ban appeals are manually reviewed.

Okay cool, thanks for the answer! I know a few people in the comments were also concerned. I think the system is totally great as long as there aren't false positives because that would be a total headache if so. You guys are the only ones actively stopping cheaters, respect!

@valvesoftware @CounterStrike We know small indie company like you can't build one so it's better to buy it and implement You can bring an item in armory worth 125/500 starts named VAC if you need funds

No anticheat will be enough until it deploys a swat team to a cheater's house and takes them directly to jail but this is a good step

@FACEITcs team, could you guys be gentlemen and share your proprietary AC with @valvesoftware based on some agreement as Valve really needs some expert devs for AC and subtick?
