1 hour battery life?

hahaha nah, 4 hours of screen on time. Screen goes to sleep in 15 seconds so actual usage can last quite a while. Also, charging is suuuper fast!

Not bad, just remember for those of us that have bad vision, we can't just buy two of everything -- making it fast charge is great, chargable and wearable with maybe an around the neck charger and / or changable battery would be awesome.

Can somebody compare and post the camera quality between Monako Glass and Meta Ray Ban glasses? I am thinking of buying it, but I don't trust @Meta with privacy. But they got really great camera quality in the glasses.

@Meta Our camera isn't as good as Meta's. Taking pictures isn't our priority, our camera is for hand tracking, which enables use cases like this:

is it a mono color oled for thinness and cost? also if you bumped the specs to like a jetson nano or raspberry pi compute module you could play videos and do better ar stuff manage more agents etc... Cool concept want higher specs.

It's mostly an MOQ concern, if we can get enough preorders, we can definitely bump the chipset. Color displays need more compute to not stutter, so we'd have to go with a Qualcomm chip. Qualcomm won't work with us unless we can place a big enough order :)

Love the vision. Real question: what's the thermal story? Running a coding agent continuously on something sitting on your face is where most wearable compute dreams quietly die.

It gets warm, but we've designed it so that heat dissipates from the side that doesn't contact skin.

Haha yes! But you don't necessarity have to wear them outdoors. This is how we're using Monako, it's magical to have the terminal simultaneously be in the background and in the foreground :)

You guys are the expert, a food for thought may be the camera component with AI access could be decoupled and sold/accessible to any googles or spectacles vendor ... linux in your eyes.

This hits different as a builder. Linux in glasses is chef's kiss. What's the biggest surprise you hit going from prototype to this?

Hardest part is a lot of the prototyping has to be done in partnership with factories. Our engineers are used to hand-soldering prototypes, but handmade ones can't fit into small enclosures. So every prototype (PCB, FPC) has to be fabricated by factories and each prototype can take weeks.

we don't have spatial computing yet. We do have an IMU inside, so it is possible on a small scale.
