i'm gonna make knockoff mooncakes

i'm gonna make knockoff pookies

or we could just stop buying dumb shit to signal status. problem solved.

Oh?

don’t listen to me. it’s really cool what you’re building.

Are the vast majority of counterfeit purchases by people who know they're knockoffs? Seems like a market mismatch.

“Linking” to an NFT does not fix this unfortunately. You can program NFC chips to point to anything. Maybe just need to explain a bit more.

I just destroyed $12,000 because Mooncake is killing counterfeiting. @mooncakechips: the simplest way to verify luxury goods. @fdotinc @ruslanjabari @mooncakechips @luci_holland ft. @willyayy @PrimeIntellect @rek @Tesla @AqsaChoudryfrfr @kungwithacamera @POPMARTGlobal

what if someone clones the nfc chip and put it on another bag? it seems rly easy with a flipper zero

Have you done sufficient market research? There have been multiple companies/startups that have tried this approach and havent got traction due to variety of reasons. Make sure you are addressing those issues first.

Probably the best application of blockchain I've seen. Bloody good pitch video too.

@emilyross Thank you Emily! :)

Not sure how this fixes it. I can clone your NFC tag and put it on a fake that points to your authenticity NFT. The tag is not as equally scarce as the NFT. Devices such as a Flipper Zero will allow me to do this. Or is there something I'm missing?

If there’s a piece of hardware inside of an original non-counterfeited piece responsible for the verification, what stops that piece of hardware from being removed that was valid and placed into a counterfeit product?

If the copied product is indistinguishable from the original, why bother?Just for a silly need for prestige?

Heritage @MrAnderson452

Btw this concept has actually been tested and standardised by @azuki >> azuki has done several use cases with hi luxury clothes, collectibles and more recently timepieces with Moser. And yes. Tractability is much needed 🫡

You don’t need to verify luxury brands when you buy from the brand. You get Chinese knock-offs when you try to be cheap and buy from secondhand stores and bogus “discount” retailers.

This is stupid. You can buy 1 legitimate bag, then there’s nothing stopping you from trivially giving a counterfeit bag an NFC chip that points to the legitimate NFT.

With LUKSO , you can create NFC chips that are verifiable on the Blockchain. Here's a cool demo video.

Should take a look at $LYX @lukso_io, the best standards for provenance/identity/reputation 👌 These things should be tied to a profile @ERC725Account instead of just a wallet

Love this idea!

thank you Nemo! @akaNemsko 🫶

I think you’ve misunderstood the problem completely.

u just made that 12,000$ bag ugly with your dumb idea. Better resell it

@lukso_io

Yo @jon8wan @LUKSOFoundation you need to talk to @luci_holland about the composability of our ecosystem. It's a match made in heaven 🫰

cool idea wishing you guys the best!

thank you @Lamboland_ !

really good hook in the beginning lmaoo

The use case is a perfect fit for blockchain technology No doubt you guys will make it

thank you @Noriil_ 😇🙌

@Noriil_ If only it wasn't encroachment

@Noriil_ hi @roolitx please DM and we can chat. Also happy to cc my lawyer if needed! In general, I respect anyone trying to make the world a better place with technology and innovative solutions 💯

Who's that dude standing 😅

curious what’s the motivation for using blockchain? seems like you could just have gucci or whoever and mooncake both sign in a certificate authority type of model, then some official app could verify it. cool idea

arguably, ppl that can afford luxury labels don’t go through the trouble of verification …i like ur content and industriousness tho

Can't believe you actually drilled that bag

Can’t believe I did either even after you tried to create an AI version of it so I wouldn’t drill the real thing…

Mooncake? What a terrible name for a cool idea. Happy Birthday.

thanks @dollargamma

So..... by @ChiruLabs

hype for this 🔥
