Introducing PBS (PS5 Broadcast Stream) 🎮 I'm developing a payload that streams the PS5's screen directly to a web browser over a local network, without starting a Remote Play session or installing a client on the receiving device. Capture uses the console's hardware H.264 encoder. I've successfully tested 1080p...

This payload is especially useful for people like me who record their consoles to create showcases like this; it also allowed me to avoid using an external capture card.

@StonedModder can we stream outside the local network too?

@StonedModder You can use software like WireGuard for that

Good luck with bandwidth required to match even 1080p @ 30FPS (You won't) This is what steam is doing and that problem I stated above is what they ran into as well. Forget how they "solved"it, but they kind of did.

This is really going to help me get everything from Opera; I'll finally be able to take clean screenshots to share on twitter

I'll be able to show you Hyperion properly; the videos I've made so far look like a bunch of pixels slapped together. I wonder if I can at least get the resolution up to 2K.

C'est un super projet. Ça serait bien d'avoir un repo git pour pouvoir suivre le développement sans forcément avec une release maintenant

Seregon16 days ago

That's what I used to do, but now that projects are being taken, copied, and the credits are being removed, I'd rather wait until the project is fully developed, I wouldn't want someone to use AI on it and claim it as their own. Just like what happened to @StonedModder with many of his latest projects

Ever thought about a Cheat Engine app for the PS5 ?

Like this?

I guess the main difference from this to Remote Play is that the inputs are bound to the console, right?

Seregon's profile picture
Seregon17 days ago

Yes, basically you use the controller connected directly to the console instead of having to connect it to an intermediate PC, plus you can open the page on multiple devices at the same time

Heyde Moura's profile picture
Heyde Moura17 days ago

Right. That being said, you can add the page directly to OBS. Just need a `/fullscreen` route there and you're golden!

its a great work😃, If its possible, put only video output without any ui as link, In obs is hard to remove these UIs, for example, IP:port is with ui, and IP:Port/noUI. thanks for makeing this, its actually better and easier than remot play😁

I'll do it; this was just a demonstration with live benchmarks.

Great work. I’ve always struggled to play the PS5 on an iPad screen—there’s a lack of software, and most video capture cards don’t support 60 fps. Thanks! But will this setup be practical for actual gameplay, or just for viewing?

Seregon's profile picture
Seregon17 days ago

If playing at 1080p and 60 fps is enough for you, then why not? The latency is pretty low, and I think I can lower it even further, but I don't think I can handle higher resolutions.

It's more than enough. I just want to take full advantage of the M4 OLED screen.

Maybe chiaki do the same?

Seregon's profile picture
Seregon17 days ago

No? Chiaki uses Remote Play, but PBS doesn't, and it only works on jailbroken consoles. Plus, Chiaki isn't available directly in a browser, and you can't connect with multiple devices.

007 FIRST LIGHT QUALITY MODE AT 60 FPS ON BASE PS5. IT'S TIME TO ASK SOME SERIOUS QUESTIONS. Please take a few minutes to read this post. Watch the attached video. And most importantly, think about what it means for the future of gaming. Today, I'm officially introducing my 007 First Light Quality Mode 60 FPS Patch, running on a standard PS5. Not a PS5 Pro. Not Performance Mode. QUALITY MODE. 60 FPS. BASE PS5. After countless hours of reverse engineering, technical investigation and testing, I've achieved something that raises serious questions about the restrictions imposed on the hardware we already own. During my analysis, I discovered that Quality Mode is artificially limited to 30 FPS through software. I managed to overcome that restriction, and my tests confirmed the results shown in the attached gameplay video. And that's where the real discussion begins. SONY, WHO ARE THESE LIMITATIONS REALLY FOR? We're constantly told that better performance requires better hardware. Want higher framerates while preserving visual quality? Buy a PS5 Pro. Spend around €700. But what happens when an independent developer demonstrates that a regular PS5 can go beyond an enforced software limit? Sony's ecosystem allows framerates to be artificially controlled. My work demonstrates why those restrictions deserve scrutiny. I prove Sony imposed this particular limit to sell more PS5 Pro consoles. But I absolutely question a system where the company selling you an upgrade also controls so much of what your existing hardware is allowed to deliver. Think about that. They sell you the problem. Then they sell you the solution. They convince you that what you already own isn't enough. And when you're ready to spend more money, there's always another product waiting for you. YOU THINK YOU'RE BUYING THE PRODUCT. BUT IN REALITY, YOU ARE THE PRODUCT. AND REMEMBER WHAT WE DID WITH WOLVERINE? This isn't where our ambition ends. We've already explored pushing the limits with our Wolverine 120 FPS work. And that raises an even bigger question. What if 120 FPS could become achievable in more games that currently restrict players to much lower framerates? Imagine what we could discover if we stopped treating every software-imposed limit as an absolute hardware limitation. Of course, not every game can be guaranteed to reach 120 FPS. Every engine and rendering workload is different. But that's exactly what I'm investigating right now. More games. More freedom. More performance. Not through marketing promises, but through reverse engineering, experimentation and actual testing. SPECIAL THANKS TO Seregon I want to sincerely thank SeregonWar, the developer behind PBS. Without him and his incredible work, I wouldn't have been able to record the attached gameplay video directly from my PS5 without an external capture card. His contribution made this demonstration possible, and he deserves proper recognition. This is what our community is capable of when independent developers share knowledge and build on each other's achievements. THE PATCH WILL BE AVAILABLE TONIGHT. Available for download tonight. This project required countless hours of research, testing and dedication. If you appreciate my work and want to support future patches and investigations, consider leaving a voluntary donation on Ko-fi. SUPPORT MY WORK: NOW I WANT EVERYONE TO THINK ABOUT THIS. Why should we automatically accept every performance restriction placed on hardware we've already purchased? How many limitations are genuinely unavoidable, and how many deserve to be challenged? Watch the video. Examine the results. Ask questions. Because gaming should be about giving players more possibilities, not simply convincing them to purchase another console. WE DON'T NEED TO ACCEPT EVERY LIMITATION. WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND IT. QUESTION IT. AND WHEN POSSIBLE, BREAK THROUGH IT. Thank you to everyone who has supported my work. This is only the beginning. NOT FOR THE SHAREHOLDERS. NOT FOR THE MARKETING. FOR THE PLAYER. -ZER0

As a Twitch streamer, do you struggle with keeping your viewership up when on a BRB or Starting Soon screen? Clip reels are a perfect, fun way to keep attention. And they showcase your content. But they're a LOT of work to maintain. Well.. at least they were😎 What if you could have a simple browser source that automatically played an always-fresh clip reel? What if you could have a simple browser source that would show the clip reel of your last stream, like a "Previously On..." TV show intro? Now you can!! When you use the Highlight Hunter by FrostyTools, you find the best moments from your VOD, automatically. You can already easily turn them into Twitch clips, or download the snippets to edit for a perfect short-form video, or download entire montages of VODs to share with your community. BUT NOW, you can just grab one of two simple browser source links, to pop into your OBS or Meld Studio One of them will roll all your favorited snippets in random order, like a shuffling playlist of your best highlights. Great for BRB screens, or any time you want to entertain with your best moments. The other will play the linear montage of your latest VOD, for a "Previously On..." experience that helps catch viewers up if they missed it or forgot. Great for Starting Soon screens to seamlessly tie the streams together (and pairs great with our Showstarter chatbot feature 😉). The best part? As you continue to use the Highlight Hunter, these update automatically! New favorite snippets since last stream? They're in the reel already! Ran the Highlight Hunter on your latest VOD? Its montage will automatically play on your 'Previously On..' browser source when you start stream up next time. This is a SUPER powerful update; check it out ASAP!
