RIP lots of startups... 🪦

And this is why I decided it was a horrible idea to build any B2C AI powered SAAS business. Any of the megas can and will just erase you easily.

This is awesome. Our team is trying it right now, and our initial reaction is: The voice itself is cool. But opening our inbox and reading the early logs of what people are actually asking for is super helpful. Excited to be working with y'all.

gg to the low effort companies doing this 2024 - 2026

'set up in minutes just by adding your website' is doing a lot of work. what happens when the caller's question isn't on the website?

I think this is the first of many moves eleven labs makes. I’ll definitely be getting clients on the platform asap.

went in expecting a lead-gen story. came out reading transcripts like they're the interesting part. 👀

Huge for SMBs!

I would need a good off ramp and good disclosure to customers up front. My suspicion is I would lose more customers than gain by so I would need good data on it. I love AI, my customers do not. Off hours may be the play though.

Nobody measures this. Every brand I work with can tell you their CAC to the dollar and not one of them knows how many people called and hung up.

oh dang, I almost tried to build something like this!

what happens when a caller asks something reception can't answer?

tried to bait it into making something up three different ways. it just kept saying someone would follow up.

AI receptionists are becoming a must-have for modern businesses.

This is amazing

You seriously need to divide up in: Boomer Gen X Millenial Gen Z Categories. Idk who's running your marketing department but they're clearly incredibly lost in the times.

Answering was never the hard part. The break is downstream: the agent books the job and the shop's calendar doesn't know until someone retypes it. Every voice agent I've run died at that seam, not at the mic.

congrats! best, the cooler neighbor

This reception AI tool is perfect for what I do. Nothing like “let me transfer you to someone” just gonna answer your questions instantly. 🫶🔥

Solid. But who governs the call data?

The red ocean of all red oceans

Never miss a call or lose a customer again

Such a great use case for AI and ElevenLabs is already great at audio.. so this makes sense!!

Cool use of AI

Finally peta-billionaire receptionist gurus are FUCKED Thanks 11labs, they're so exhausting..

The real test won’t be whether it can answer the phone. It’ll be how well it handles edge cases, interruptions, bad audio, and customers who don’t follow the script. Looking forward to testing it out.

When somebody like Elevenlabs go on this vertical, don’t know how do you wake up as a founder of an AI Receptionist tool

does it convert the audio into text and save it in a custom folder or something?

The focus on missed calls is a clear use case for small businesses, where a fast answer can protect a real relationship. I would be curious to see how it handles unusual requests and handoffs to a person.

Curious how it handles someone talking over it mid-sentence

I’ve had actual human receptionists lose the thread on less.

Love this. Paying for leads that hit voicemail is painful. I'd also want a smooth path to a human when needed: transfer with context if someone's available, or arrange a callback when reception is less busy. That's what would make it work for more complex calls too.
