Figuring out pricing is tough. I didn't want to use a subscription model, and the goal for ResumePad is to be a place where people can continue to update their resumes, share them with others, and receive AI feedback when needed. There’s some recurring costs, hence this model.

It’s clearly engineered well. It will look good on your resume if you open source it. But I am struggling to come up with a good reason to use this over Word. What makes it 5x better?

I can't speak for everyone, but I found dealing with formatting in Word or gDocs incredibly frustrating whenever I needed to create or update my resume. I wanted to focus on the content rather than deal with formatting issues, so I switched to LaTeX, as many people do. But I still felt there had to be an easier way to quickly organize a resume without learning LaTeX, and I didn't like the way so many resume builders online do this via typical form-fills. Initially, I built a tool for myself and then realized others might benefit from it as well. I then added a few features I always wanted, like sharing my resume online with a single link and quickly getting some useful AI suggestions. And now, here we are :)

Now this is it. Sometimes I think most of us are overthinking when it comes to ideation for their products.

You know, I got the idea for this app when using Overleaf and one of the earliest things I worked on was a way to import your resume as LaTeX to get started. Still want to implement this in the near future. Anything in particular you'd like to see? A LaTeX editor itself?
