Wow. Very nice Rusty. Any chance you can cook up something for Linux? Iris hasn't kept up with updates for Linux and it no longer installs, so there's a big hole in the market there now.

If your TV is hooked up to your Mac or PC as a display (like a monitor over HDMI) the blue light filter works on it same as any other screen

How'd you fix PWM?

Most screens don't actually dim smoothly. Instead they flick the backlight on and off really fast, faster than you can consciously see, to fake a dimmer look Tap Zap keeps the backlight running at full brightness the whole time (no flicking) & dims the image itself instead, like darkening a photo Looks the same brightness to you but the flicker's gone

TAP ZAP is a lot faster when compared to IRIS

OK got it working on 2 macs. VERY HAPPY since I could not sleep and had to work at 2 am. NIGHT mode rocks. Easy to use Rusty thank you. Now maybe back to sleep with some melatonin left?

and how do you stop the PWM flicker? sounds physically impossible

It's not stopping PWM at the hardware level, it's avoiding it entirely. Most screens only PWM when the backlight is dimmed below 100%, the flicker is how they fake lower brightness without actual analog dimming

Looks good and easy to control. My partner uses Iris and I can never read her screen. The only slightly weird thing is the use of a red lightning symbol on the top menu bar. With the night red screen, it is now invisible!

Once the screen goes full red there's basically no other color left so a red icon just blends right in. Gonna fix that so it stays visible. Glad you're liking it.

Black lightning bolt would work, no?

Black works on a light menu bar but disappears on a dark one. Going with an icon that flips to whichever one contrasts, and on/off becomes solid vs dimmed. Will push this in an update

Yeah, that's a good idea. A red bolt is visible on the amber screen. Is a yellow bolt visible on a red screen? The only other thought I had was maybe a border round the icon, like a circle around the lightning bolt.
