Building my new sewing room! You may think it's all ballgowns and corsets, but before the sewing and the armor building can happen, there's a lot of sawdust, measuring, and power tools. Today the nail gun was getting more use than the sewing machine! As you can see this room is down to the studs for the renovation. It has a beautiful bay window that had been boxed in by previous owners, so I'm restoring that to its original glory because who doesnt love a bay window?? Ever tried to sew a garment and find the whole thing sliding off the table? Or you can't reach the machine past the pins? When a costume or gown gets bulky, the easiest way to manage it is to roll the excess fabric up so only the section you’re sewing is under the machine. It keeps the weight off the seam and makes everything much easier to control. I learned this simple trick years ago from my quilter friend! #fyp #sewing #tipsandtricks #cosplay #chimeracostumes
