The Omaha Police Dept has launched its newest public safety initiative: Drones as First Responders (DFR). “Innovation is at the heart of effective policing," said Chief Todd Schmaderer. "Our new Drones as First Responders program enhances officer safety, improves response times, and provides a powerful new perspective during emergencies, benefiting both our officers and the community we serve. With this program, we are setting a new standard for emergency response”.

The legal architecture that once protected women was not dismantled by men. It was dismantled by women who mistook the performance of compassion for the substance of it. This is what suicidal empathy looks like in practice, and women are paying for it with their safety.
