C2PA "content credentials" tech is going to be used for surveillance and censoring the Internet. It's intended to track the provenance (source) of all images online in order to eliminate "misinformation" and copyright infringement.

Does it need to be connected to the internet at all times or something how does that work if your content never touches the internet

would need a similar standard for moving images, and then ideally combine a small action camera as a backup to record continually while shooting stills, so you can double-verify.
