Completely agree with him and met him for the first time at the Nixon / Milken Institute, Cancer 2035: A Roadmap for the Future. Robotics and CV! 👓 Computer vision gives the robots a sense of vision and additional intelligence. Pralines are packed by a delta robot using computer vision. Packing chocolate pralines into a box with the delta robot. Unlike most robots, this one has a fixed TCP, and the base moves in response to vision data. To adjust the base, the vision system determines exactly where the praline is located on the conveyor belt. 🍫 Using this application, the system knows where each praline should be placed based on its orientation. A true engineering showcase!

Musk explained that humanoid robots improve through three exponential trends multiplied together: digital intelligence, AI chip capability, and electromechanical dexterity. But the real unlock is that the robot can start making the robots. "So you have a recursive multiplicative exponential," he said. "This is a supernova." Musk's thesis is that once you have a physical robot capable of manufacturing, the production curve stops being linear and becomes self-replicating. Every robot built accelerates the building of the next one. The implication is that the companies that control physical manufacturing will control AI's future, not the ones with the best models. German company Agile Robotics has launched its first industrial humanoid robot, Agile One, featuring intuitive human-robot interaction, dexterous hands (for grasping small screws and touching the screen), and AI-driven operation trained in the real world. The robot is used to inspect the walls of ships. 🚢 The Magnet Crawler introduced by the University of Bremen is a lightweight and compact climbing robot for magnetic surfaces. The robot has two magnetic wheels driven by geared motors and an elastic tail to improve stability. In the front part of the robot, there is a miniature wireless camera. The robot is remotely teleoperated & the video signal from the camera is displayed to the operator on a portable screen. Let's wait and perhaps the robot will become more autonomous over time. Big fan of robots that make the world a safer place for humans.
