You can learn more about the Readwise CLI at BTW- looking for an MCP server instead? Coming soon, you can try out a beta version here: 🤫

The Readwise CLI/MCP work great on their own, but we've also created a readwise-skills repo that shares some powerful skills to use with them:

Here's a good example of what you can do with it 👇

y'all better go find out what you've been missing while this was being test-driven :P it is SOOOOO nice to just type into my terminal "hey what did I highlight in the book I listened to this morning that I didn't remember annotate?" and tell it "oh yeah, here's why I wanted to save that" and then get back useful notes written just the way I like.

Powerful workflow!

I'm working with claude code to integrate this into my workflow now. I spent the past week trying to vibe code a script to have all of my gmail subs and RSS subs put into a digest format and remove duplicates. Looks like this just made that project obsolete.

Hopefully... you'll have more time freed up to build even more powerful workflows :)

Given the volume of content I have pass through Reader to help curate my newsletter, I'm really hoping so. I'll let you know. Claude Code is building the skill now to automate this, so I'll start testing tonight.

Just tried the /triage skill and love that I can tell Claude "hey this tweet that I just read contains a link to a blog post, can you add it to my inbox" 😎 Many cool things to try!

Is this read only access? I would be reluctant to give openclaw the ability to delete all of my years of highlights… 🤓

Readwise's profile picture
Readwise7 months ago

Not read-only, but we should definitely add a mode to that! Great request. That being said, we haven't heard of anything like that happening yet...

the guilt library just became a knowledge base

Readwise's profile picture

Even if you don't read something you saved, it can now still be knowledge for you :)

wait does this have full text of things I saved in Reader??

Thomas Roedl's profile picture

This is the real unlock people are sleeping on. Most knowledge workers have years of highlights and notes scattered across apps, completely disconnected from their actual workflows. Making that knowledge accessible to AI agents changes everything. Your past reading becomes fuel for better decisions today. The gap was never "read more." It was "retrieve what you already know."

The next layer is obvious: saved knowledge shouldn’t just be searchable, it should be callable inside workflows.

This is going to be rad. I already kind of use my readwise and reader kind of as a notebookLM of stuff that I deeply read and annotated already. Now this is going to level that up a ton.

Now, I used up all of my four-hour Claude Code contingent to try out all the skills in your skill repository. 😅

Stefan Imhoff's profile picture

I got only two skills far in this time window; the article it wrote for a book was on point, and my persona was a good analysis. I am looking forward to testing the highlights-graph, it has interesting potential for an upcoming article I want to write to connect different topics in the vault.
