President Trump signed the executive order "Fostering the Future for American Children and Families" on November 13, 2025, to strengthen the child welfare system. It supports youth aging out of foster care with scholarships, vocational training, jobs, financial literacy, and an online hub for self-sufficiency plans. It also reduces unnecessary placements, and expands foster homes. First Lady Melania, who launched the "Fostering the Future" initiative in 2021 under "Be Best," led its development.
