Central to the UPA's mission is advocating for "privacy by design" in technology, where privacy is integrated in the products we use The UPA serves as a collective voice for those developing privacy technologies, pushing for reforms that protect our rights to build and protect

The UPA's immediate focus is on influencing key EU regulations like the eIDAS and the Digital Services Act, which present challenges to the principles of end-to-end encryption These efforts aim to reshape policies for better digital privacy standards

Key plans include appointing a coordinator for lobbying efforts and hosting events at major blockchain conferences, like @EthereumDenver A legal fund will also be established to support and advocate for privacy-centric practices in the industry

The UPA also seeks to improve inclusivity in the Web3 space, broadening the alliance's impact and reach E.g. the UPA will explore ways for smaller organizations to join (e.g. through accessible membership fees, determined democratically by its general assembly)
