Once upon a time, Fergie played Giggs on the right flank to cut in as an inverted winger… for quite a couple of games I must add.

It's probably the thing that annoys me the most about modern 'forwards': If that had been Garnacho/Rashford/Anthony/Amad the first touch would have controlled the ball, then they'd have stood still in front of the defender and looked sideways/backwards before passing the ball 🤷‍♂️

No idea why managers want wingers cutting in, narrows the pitch. Keep them wide, on their better foot and isolate FB. Also crosses should be better Football’s a simple game, made complicated A GK who can save and catch crosses, Defs who defend, wingers wide, 9 in the box, etc

Feel sorry for the generation growing up on these current United wingers. They'll never know what it was like to have Ronaldo and Giggs either side 😭what a time to be alive...

Almost all players called wingers today are no such thing. They are inside forwards. Giggs was a winger.

💯. The best winger the Premier League has ever seen. Comfortably.

I hated inverted wingers. Get a winger to beat his man go to the byline and cross to a striker.
