How come they show up in the video I’m watching but not the phone video? Shouldn’t they be invisible for both recordings?

If it’s works, it’s illegal. You can not modify your license plate number. So, it’s probable cause to police to investigate and arrest you if they found modification. If it’s not work, you waste your money.
